Primary purpose is to plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of our Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and the facility policies to ensure that the highest degree of resident care is maintained at all times.

Bloomfield, Missouri - The Missouri Veterans Cemetery will honor veterans on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with a Veterans Day Program and special speaker.

This year's speaker is Major John P. Myers, USAF. 

He is the Information Security Officer at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Liberty Days to be Held at Stars & Stripes Museum
Bloomfield, Missouri - The Stars and Stripes Museum in Bloomfield, Missouri will host their 5th annual Liberty Days event on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This is a free, family-friendly, and educational event featuring a living military timeline.

This year's timeline will represent the conflicts during which the Stars & Stripes was printed from the Civil War to the modern era.

They are also including in the timeline displays related to pre-colonial, colonial and the American Revolution.

History professors from Southeast Missouri University, re-enactors, educators, veterans, and others will be presenting.

There will also be an 18th century kitchen, a Civil War skirmish, a WWI medical station, and a WWII encampment with military vehicles.

They will also host veterans from the Korean, Vietnam, Cold War, Gulf War, Kosovo, and other time periods.

You will be able to meet veterans who experienced the conflicts first hand, taste foods from an 18th century kitchen, interact with re-enactors, receive a guided tour of the museum and more. The Stars and Stripes Museum is more than a display of military and newspaper artifacts. It is unique among the nation's museums. There is no other museum in the United States dedicated to the history of America’s military newspaper. With over 7,000 square feet of attractive exhibits, visitors see American history from a different perspective.

Vendors will be at the event. There will be burgers, corndogs, fried potatoes, drinks, and a variety of treats for all tastes.

Bloomfield Native Working on a Ghost House Novel

Bloomfield, Missouri - Rose Marie (Robinson) Kinder, a native of Bloomfield, Missouri, authored "The Universe Playing Strings"  She is the author of four books, including "Old Time Fiddling: Hall Sappington, Missouri Fiddler."

Her article on Missouri artist Gary Cadwallader was published in the February/March issue of Missouri Life.  She is known as a regionalist writer featuring life in small communities in Missouri and in the southwest.

Kinder is currently writing a novel about a ghost house in Missouri and conducted research for that book in Bloomfield.

Her new short story collection, "The Dancer's Son and Other Stories." was a finalist for the 2016 Richard Sullivan Prize in fiction, while her novel, "The Universe Playing Strings," was a finalist for the 2017 Binghamton University John Gardner Fiction Award.

From 1989 to 2002 Kinder was a professor of English at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg and is currently living in Warrensburg with her husband.
