Royce Lee Smothers, son of Loretta Barnes Walters & Don Walters and the late Robert Lee Smothers, was born in Dexter, Missouri on February 15, 1958 and departed this life at his residence in Bernie, Missouri on November 22, 2022 at the age of 64.

Mr. Smothers served his country in the United States Navy. He later worked at FedEx until his retirement and was a resident of Bernie.

He was united in marriage to Angie Stone in Bernie, Missouri on November 1, 1980. Mrs. Smothers survives in their home in Bernie.

Other survivors include his mother, Loretta Walters and husband Don of Dexter, Missouri; by two daughters, Ashlee Smothers of Dexter, Missouri and Tara Smothers and T.C. Gromer of Bernie, Missouri; by one brother, Brad Walters & wife Joni of Jackson, Missouri; by one grandson, Carter Gromer; also by other relatives and many friends.

Friends may call at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Monday, November 28, 2022 from 10:00 A.M until 11:30 A.M.

A Masonic Service will be conducted at 11:30 AM in the Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie.

The Memorial service will then be conducted at 12:00 P.M. in the Mathis Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dale Hartle Officiating.

Interment will follow in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Full Military Honors. Mathis Funeral Home of Bernie is assisting with arrangements.
