In Memory of Betty Lou Curran

Betty Lou Curran, daughter of the late Fred Lizenbee and Ella Hoss Lizenbee, was born on November 12, 1940, and departed this life on November 16, 2022, at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 82 years.

Mrs. Curran was a homemaker, a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri, and a resident of Dexter. Growing up she was a typical farm girl. After she married, she traveled to many places with her husband, as he was in the military. She loved her children and grandchildren, and she never met a stranger.

On July 26, 1959, in Rockville, Indiana, she was united in marriage to John “Jack” Curran. Mr. Curran preceded her in death on June 9, 2008.

She is survived by two sons, Tony Curran and wife Michelle of Dexter, Missouri, and John Curran and wife Kelly of Benton, Arkansas; by her brother, Robert Lizenbee of Dexter, Missouri; by her sister, Helen Robinson of Dexter, Missouri; by six grandchildren, Toni Curran and fiancé Preston Loyd, Elizabeth Curran and boyfriend Will Brehmer, Shelby Curran, Brandi Curran, Bella Curran, and Carson Curran; and by her great-grandson, Dutton Loyd.

Other than by her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her three brothers, Earl Lizenbee, Clay Lizenbee, and Lonzo Lizenbee; and by four sisters, Velma Jones Allen, Beatrice Donica, Mary Hull, and Loretta Quick.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, November 21, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, November 21, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Loren Stephens and Rev. Lonny Mittag officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting with arrangements.
