Raymond Joseph Jackson, age 74, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at his home in Bernie, MO.
On May 26, 1948 in Poplar Bluff, MO. he was born to the late Orion L. and Nora Mae Carter Jackson.
On August 26, 1969 Raymond enlisted in the United States Army. He served a tour of duty during the Vietnam War, where he was a Specialist 4th Class.
In the spring of 1984 he married Carolyn Ann Ship who preceded him in death on August 14, 2020.
Raymond worked for the Sikeston Convalescent Center in the maintenance department until his retirement.
He is survived by three sons; Michael (Debbie) Jackson of Mayville, WI., Larry Jackson of Sikeston, MO. and Joe Jackson of Mack’s Creek, MO.; three daughters, Elizabeth (David) Ellison of New Madrid, MO., Crissy Miller of Fredericktown, MO. and Mary Cambell of Williston, ND.; two sisters, Helen Russell of Cape Girardeau, MO. and Barbara Stump of Jasper, AR. and eighteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 noon at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO.
Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO.

At her home early in the morning of Nov. 15, 2022, Marsha Faith Vowels Edwards of Cape Girardeau peacefully passed into heavenly eternity.
An outspoken and devoted follower of Jesus Christ, Marsha's personal life revolved around her faith and her children. Surviving are Myles (Erin) Edwards of Champaign, Illinois and Morghan Faith (Abel) Varnadore of Palmetto, Florida and her grandson Beau Lee Varnadore, who is to arrive in January; and her brother, Michael (Cheryl) Vowels of Ozark, Missouri.
Marsha was born on June 20, 1956 in Cape Girardeau to Marshall and Mary Faith Estes Vowels of Dexter, who preceded her in death. She grew up in Dexter and earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
She was a noted entrepreneur who owned a trio of Body Shoppe stores in Cape Girardeau, Dexter and Poplar Bluff. From there, she was a Senior Sales Representative for pharmaceuticals where she won a host of national and state awards and honors. After retirement, she pursued a number of business ventures and volunteer efforts designed to help others.
Marsha loved to travel and was faithful in attending exercise classes. Her many private kindnesses to others are not recorded here.
Visitation will be from 10 am to 12 pm on Saturday, Nov. 19 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. Immediately following will be a Celebration of Life service. Fred Burgard will officiate.

Jimmy Carol Davis, son of Anna Belle Lamunion Davis and the late Noble Davis, was born on May 5, 1961, in Carrollton, Missouri, and departed this life on November 17, 2022, at his residence in Bernie, Missouri, at the age of 61 years.
Mr. Davis was a former employee of Vancil’s IGA and also had worked for the City of Miami, Missouri. He was of the Christian faith.
He is survived by his mother, Anna Belle Davis of Bernie, Missouri; by three brothers, Ray Davis of Dexter, Missouri, Dennis Davis of Bernie, Missouri, and Mike Davis of Campbell, Missouri; and by his sister, Kim Cavaness of Bernie, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his father, Noble Davis, and two sisters, Donna Hirt and Sharon Sue Davis.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Monday, November 21, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, November 21, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Smith Stevenson Cemetery.

Betty Lou Curran, daughter of the late Fred Lizenbee and Ella Hoss Lizenbee, was born on November 12, 1940, and departed this life on November 16, 2022, at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 82 years.
Mrs. Curran was a homemaker, a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri, and a resident of Dexter. Growing up she was a typical farm girl. After she married, she traveled to many places with her husband, as he was in the military. She loved her children and grandchildren, and she never met a stranger.
On July 26, 1959, in Rockville, Indiana, she was united in marriage to John “Jack” Curran. Mr. Curran preceded her in death on June 9, 2008.
She is survived by two sons, Tony Curran and wife Michelle of Dexter, Missouri, and John Curran and wife Kelly of Benton, Arkansas; by her brother, Robert Lizenbee of Dexter, Missouri; by her sister, Helen Robinson of Dexter, Missouri; by six grandchildren, Toni Curran and fiancé Preston Loyd, Elizabeth Curran and boyfriend Will Brehmer, Shelby Curran, Brandi Curran, Bella Curran, and Carson Curran; and by her great-grandson, Dutton Loyd.
Other than by her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her three brothers, Earl Lizenbee, Clay Lizenbee, and Lonzo Lizenbee; and by four sisters, Velma Jones Allen, Beatrice Donica, Mary Hull, and Loretta Quick.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, November 21, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, November 21, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Loren Stephens and Rev. Lonny Mittag officiating.
Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Anita J. Jarrell, daughter of the late Harrison Brigman and Bertha Floyd Brigman, was born on December 31, 1962, in Bernie, Missouri, and departed this life on November 16, 2022, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri, at the age of 59 years.
Ms. Jarrell was a homemaker and a resident of Puxico, Missouri.
She is survived by three sons, Christopher Canoy of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Joey Canoy of Zalma, Missouri, and Casey Jarrell of Dexter, Missouri; by three sisters, Dottie Sue Hunt of Harrisburg, Arkansas, Patsy Stringer of Jackson, Missouri, and Nancy Hartle of Millersville, Missouri; and by five grandchildren, Brenley Canoy, Adeline Canoy, Landry Canoy, Maniah, Orner, and Raelynn Hoffman.
Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Charles Brigman, Guy Brigman, William Brigman, Gerald Brigman, and Eddie Brigman; and by three sisters, Audrey Brigman, Carla Brigman, and Marie Hicks.
