Raymond Joseph Jackson, age 74, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at his home in Bernie, MO.

On May 26, 1948 in Poplar Bluff, MO. he was born to the late Orion L. and Nora Mae Carter Jackson.

On August 26, 1969 Raymond enlisted in the United States Army. He served a tour of duty during the Vietnam War, where he was a Specialist 4th Class.

In the spring of 1984 he married Carolyn Ann Ship who preceded him in death on August 14, 2020.

Raymond worked for the Sikeston Convalescent Center in the maintenance department until his retirement.

He is survived by three sons; Michael (Debbie) Jackson of Mayville, WI., Larry Jackson of Sikeston, MO. and Joe Jackson of Mack’s Creek, MO.; three daughters, Elizabeth (David) Ellison of New Madrid, MO., Crissy Miller of Fredericktown, MO. and Mary Cambell of Williston, ND.; two sisters, Helen Russell of Cape Girardeau, MO. and Barbara Stump of Jasper, AR. and eighteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 noon at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO.

Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO.
