In Memory of Janet Lee Ogelvie

Janet Lee Ogelvie, daughter of the late Leroy Whitehead and Leona Bailey Whitehead was born on December 15, 1941 in Pyletown, Missouri and departed this life on July 16, 2022 at the SoutheastHealth of Stoddard County at the age of 80.

Mrs. Ogelvie was a member of the Sugar Tree General Baptist Church in Bernie. She was a home-maker and resident of Bernie. She enjoyed getting out, going to yard sales, and loved fishing and camping.

On September 19, 1964 she was united in marriage to Louis Ogelvie Sr. in Flint, Michigan. Mr. Ogelvie survives of their residence in Bernie.

Other than by her husband, she is survived by one son, Louis Ogelvie Jr. and his wife, Jennifer of Broseley, Missouri; by three daughters, Janet and husband Donnie Layton of Dexter, Missouri, Linda and husband Steve Fitzpatrick of Dexter, Missouri and Tammy Ogelvie of Bernie, Missouri; by one brother, Terry Whitehead of Linden, Michigan; by one sister, Sandra Farrell of Bull Head City, Arizona; by eleven grandchildren, Sandra Ogelvie, Seth Ogelvie, Gracie Ogelvie, Suzanna Ogelvie, Rebecca Ogelvie, Samantha Ogelvie, Erica Conner and companion Nicholas Hufford, Alex Fitzpatrick, Tyler Layton and wife Victoria, Whitney Lane, and Michael Layton; and by six great-grandchildren, Christian Lane, Harper Mason, Calvin Lane, Grayson Lane, Amelia Dormer and baby Bodhi Mikel Hufford who is on the way.

Other than by her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Louis Ogelvie; by her brother in infancy, Michael Lee Whitehead; by two sisters, Pat Stanley and Carolyn Whitehead in infancy.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie, Missouri.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Brother David Gargus officiating.

Interment will follow at the Smith Stevenson Cemetery.
