In Memory of Roger A. Kevitt

Roger A. Kevitt, son of Neoma Stark Kevitt of Dexter, Missouri and Arnold Kevitt of Bloomfield, Missouri, was born on November 20, 1961, in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, and departed this life on July 10, 2022, at his residence in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 60 years.

Mr. Kevitt was a former truck driver for Edd Eubanks Trucking in Dexter.

He was united in marriage to Ulanda Jordan, she survives.

In addition to his wife, mother, and father, he is survived by his son, Dustin Kevitt and wife Tiffany of Sikeston, Missouri; by his step-daughter, Courtney McCulley; by his sister, Penny Maze of Dexter, Missouri; and by four grandchildren, Karleigh Kevitt, Levi Kevitt, Colton Noble and Elizabeth Noble.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in the Smith Stevenson Cemetery in rural Dexter.

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting with arrangements.

In Memory of Jeremy Blake Asher

Jeremy Blake Asher, son of Jeffery Asher and Sandra Jones Asher, was born on March 18, 1973, in Rolla, Missouri, and departed this life on July 9, 2022, at his residence in Bernie, Missouri at the age of 49 years.

Mr. Asher had served in the Missouri National Guard. He enjoyed working on cars and collecting Farmall Tractors. He was of the Christian Faith.

On August 12, 2021, in Malden, Missouri, He was united in marriage to Amy Edwards. Mrs. Asher survives of their home in Bernie.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Sandra Asher of Bernie; by his father and step-mother, Jeffery and Catherine Asher of Buckner, Missouri; by his son, Dalton Leach of Farmington, Missouri; by two daughters, Kynlee Asher of Bernie, Missouri, and Jerica Hilliard of Jackson, Missouri; by two brothers, Will Asher of Puxico, Missouri, and Aaron Asher and wife Christine of Bernie, Missouri; and by two sisters, Nikki Kruetzer and husband Mike of Gravois Mills, Missouri, and Carmen Schweitzer and husband Shawn of Gravois Mills, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Bob Sneddy.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Monday, July 18, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Matthew Tanner officiating.

Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie is assisting with arrangements.

In Memory of Eric Shane Hendrix

Eric Shane Hendrix, son of Janet Sadler Smith and David Hendrix, was born on October 8, 1987, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and departed this life on July 8, 2022 at his residence in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 34 years.

Mr. Hendrix had formerly worked at Sonic in Dexter.

He is survived by his mother, Janet Smith of Dexter, Missouri; by his father and step-mother, David and Anita Hendrix of Pontotoc, Mississippi; by his maternal grandmother, Carzenia Sadler of Dexter, Missouri; and by two step-sisters, Stephanie Gray of Malvern, Arkansas and Samantha Brown of Pontotoc, Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Elbert L. Sadler; and by his half-brother, Gabe Sweeney.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, July 11, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, July 11, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Mickey Goodwin officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.

In Memory of Richard Jackson Brown Jr.

Richard Jackson Brown Jr., son of the late Richard Jackson Brown Sr. and Lenora Judy Brown, was born on March 17, 1953, in El Paso, Texas, and departed this life on July 6, 2022, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, at the age of 69 years.

Mr. Brown was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a former master of train operations for Union Pacific Railroad and a resident of Dexter, Missouri.

On February 14, 2004, in Scott City, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Shelia Kenshalo. Mrs. Brown survives of their home in Dexter.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step son, Kelly Cagle of Dexter, Missouri; by three sons, Corey Brown of El Paso, Texas, Kelsey Brown and wife Kaily of Seattle, Washington, and Casey Brown of El Paso, Texas; by his step daughter, Brandy Cagle of Dexter, Missouri; by his daughter, Lindsay Kronmiller and husband Jon of El Paso, Texas; by his sister, Debbie Midkiff; and by six grandchildren, Addisynn Tipton, Rylan Cagle and Stetsen Collins all of Dexter, Missouri, Payson Cagle of Bloomfield, Missouri, Hannah Kronmiller and Caedon Kronmiller both of El Paso, Texas.

Graveside service will be held at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. with full military honors.

In Memory of Wanda Lee Parker

Wanda Lee Parker of Dexter, Missouri, daughter of the late Raymond and Caroline (Surface) Parker was born on May 5, 1959 in Sikeston, Missouri passed away on July 5, 2022 at Southeast Health of Dexter, Missouri at the age of 63.  

She lived in the Stoddard County area all of her life.  She was of the Christian faith.  Wanda loved spending time with her grandchildren.  

 Wanda is survived by one son Randy (Christina) Parker of Dexter, Missouri; one daughter Pamela Good of Dexter, Missouri; five grandchildren  Charles Parker, Randall Beck, Angelina Wilkerson, Lauriyn Good, Wanda Darlene Faith Marie Parker; two brothers Donald Parker of Arnold, Missouri; Poncho Parker of Tennessee; three sisters Susie Copeland of Sikeston, Missouri; Norma Matney of Dexter, Missouri; Patricia Henson of Dexter, Missouri as well as a host of family and friends also survive. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers Raymond Junior Parker, JC Parker, and Buckwheat Parker.

Visitation will be held on Saturday July 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.until the time of service at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday July 16, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri with Pastor Charles Robertson of Bloomfield officiating.  Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.
