In Memory of Jean Underwood

Jean Underwood, daughter of the late John Thomas Wilkison and Nellie Wren Wilkison, was born on September 17, 1927, in Bloomfield, Missouri, and departed this life on April 30, 2022, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston, Missouri, at the age of 94 years.

Mrs. Underwood was a former beautician and co-owner of Jean and Ann’s Beauty Shop in Bloomfield, Missouri, and a resident of Bloomfield. For 64 years she was a member of the Bloomfield Eastern Star.

On July 16, 1946, in Piggott, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Delmer Underwood. Mr. Underwood preceded her in death on August 2, 2012.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Scott Dale Underwood and wife Stacy, and Erin Hendershott and husband Kyle; by seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; by her brother-in-law Steve Underwood and wife Joyce of Bloomfield, Missouri; by her niece Karen Ziegenhorn and husband Dennis of Sikeston, Missouri; and by two nephews, Ron Underwood and wife Linda of Sikeston, Missouri and Dennis Underwood and wife Donna of Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Other than by her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her son, Delmer Dale Underwood; by three brothers; and by three sisters.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Steve Tippen officiating. Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to The Stars and Stripes Museum, 17377 Stars and Stripes Way, Bloomfield, Missouri 63825.

In Memory of Harry Wayne Mayabb

Harry Wayne Mayabb, son of the late Harry “Tater” Mayabb and Lela Imogene Childers Mayabb, was born on August 18, 1947, in East Prairie, Missouri, and departed this life on April 30, 2022, at his residence in East Prairie, at the age of 74 years.

Mr. Mayabb was a Veteran of the United States Navy from 1965 to 1968, serving on the USS Hunley as a ship service man, and he was an over the road truck driver for 30 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Chasady Stortz and husband J of Whitewater, Missouri; by his brother Tiger Mayabb of East Prairie, Missouri; by his sister, Sherry Thurman of East Prairie, Missouri; and by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Heather McCurter, and by his granddaughter, Gracelynn Cross.

Graveside services will be conducted at East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 2:00 p.m.

Lucille McIntyre, daughter of the late U. L. Sims and Catherine Motsinger Williams, was born on August 21, 1942, in Corning, Arkansas, and departed this life on April 29, 2022, at Winchester Nursing Center in Bernie, Missouri, at the age of 79 years.

Mrs. McIntyre was a former employee of the hat factory in Oran, Missouri and the shoe factory in Sikeston, Missouri. She attended the Dudley Church of God in Dudley, Missouri and she was a resident of Dexter, Missouri.She is survived by her son, Charles Ralph Hamilton of Malden, Missouri; by two brothers, Melvin Sims of Belton, Missouri, and James Sims of Princeton, Kentucky; by six sisters, Edna Kitchen of Sikeston, Missouri, Lilly Rodriquez of San Bernadino, California, Anita Fyffe, Janet South, and Alma Smith all of Dexter, Missouri, and Connie Odom of Moss Point, Mississippi.

Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Sims; and by two sisters, Donna Sims, and Mary Savage.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Josh Hester officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Bell City, Missouri.

In Memory of Connie Rae Hutchcraft

Connie Rae Hutchcraft, daughter of the late Harold Raymond Wilkey and Irene Brown Wilkey, was born on March 9, 1934, in Bell City, Missouri, and departed this life on April 29, 2022, at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 88 years.

Mrs. Hutchcraft was a former librarian for Keller Public Library in Dexter, Missouri, a former employee of Fram, and a resident of Dexter. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, the former president of the Dexter Hospital Auxiliary, and the former president of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

On December 30, 1952, in Piggott, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Arthur Wayne Hutchcraft. Mr. Hutchcraft preceded her in death on May 2, 2016.

She is survived by three sons, Michael Hutchcraft and wife Lynn of Kuttawa, Kentucky, Tim Hutchcraft and wife Sandy of Dexter, Missouri, and Jim Hutchcraft and wife Dena of Puxico, Missouri; by two brothers, Harold Raymond Wilkey Jr. of Buffalo, Missouri and Kenneth Andrew Wilkey of Naples, Florida; by her sister, Janet Cowley of Florissant, Missouri; by five grandchildren, Brad Hutchcraft and wife Jessica of Montezuma, Iowa, Charles Settles of Paducah, Kentucky, Chris Hutchcraft and wife Stacey of Morris, Illinois, Emily Ward and husband Nicholas of Dexter, Missouri and Dakota Hutchcraft of Dexter, Missouri; and by nine great-grandchildren.

Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Gloria Mueller, and Joyce Link.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, May 2, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 2, 2022, at 12:00 p.m.

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Margie Price, daughter of the late Edgar Chappell and Clara Richie Chappell, was born on November 20, 1927, and departed this life on April 28, 2022, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, at the age of 94 years.

Mrs. Price was a homemaker. She was a member of the Lighthouse Church in Dexter, Missouri, and a resident of Dexter.

On November 11, 1944, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Henry Price. Mr. Price preceded her in death on December 2, 2001.

She is survived by her son James Price (Suzanne) of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas; by two daughters, Lee Romine of Dexter, Missouri, and Barbara Hatlevig (Wayne) of Dexter, Missouri; by her brother, Bobby Chappell of Rockford, Illinois; by two sisters, Gloria May Pruitt of Huntsville, Alabama, and Lola Chappell of Rockford, Illinois; by four grandchildren, Jamie Stowers (Blair), James Price (Cara), Tina Russell (Tim), and Tim Romine (Lori); and by fifteen great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandchildren.

Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, L.V. Chappell and Jewell Chappell, by two sisters, Theda Hemmingson and Enid Chappell; and by two grandchildren, Michael Hatlevig and Lisa Hatlevig.

Visitation will be held at the Lighthouse Church in Dexter, Missouri on Monday, May 2, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted on Monday, May 2, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tim Russell officiating.

Interment will follow in the Duty Cemetery, near Pocahontas, Arkansas on Monday, May 2, 2022, at 3:00 p.m.
