Margie Price, daughter of the late Edgar Chappell and Clara Richie Chappell, was born on November 20, 1927, and departed this life on April 28, 2022, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, at the age of 94 years.
Mrs. Price was a homemaker. She was a member of the Lighthouse Church in Dexter, Missouri, and a resident of Dexter.
On November 11, 1944, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Henry Price. Mr. Price preceded her in death on December 2, 2001.
She is survived by her son James Price (Suzanne) of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas; by two daughters, Lee Romine of Dexter, Missouri, and Barbara Hatlevig (Wayne) of Dexter, Missouri; by her brother, Bobby Chappell of Rockford, Illinois; by two sisters, Gloria May Pruitt of Huntsville, Alabama, and Lola Chappell of Rockford, Illinois; by four grandchildren, Jamie Stowers (Blair), James Price (Cara), Tina Russell (Tim), and Tim Romine (Lori); and by fifteen great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandchildren.
Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, L.V. Chappell and Jewell Chappell, by two sisters, Theda Hemmingson and Enid Chappell; and by two grandchildren, Michael Hatlevig and Lisa Hatlevig.
Visitation will be held at the Lighthouse Church in Dexter, Missouri on Monday, May 2, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted on Monday, May 2, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tim Russell officiating.
Interment will follow in the Duty Cemetery, near Pocahontas, Arkansas on Monday, May 2, 2022, at 3:00 p.m.

Carolyn Sue Layton, daughter of the late Herbert Obards and Louise Parson Obards, was born on January 15, 1946, in Paragould, Arkansas, and departed this life on April 27, 2022, at her residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 76 years.
Mrs. Layton was a former employee of Elder Manufacturing in Dexter.
On September 8, 1990, in Bloomfield, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Marvin Layton. Mr. Layton survives of their home in Dexter.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Randy Sadler of Bloomfield, Missouri; by her step-son, Landon Layton (Susan) of Dexter, Missouri; by two step-daughters, Jennifer Layton (Travis Metje) of Gordonville, Missouri, and Leslie Kyle (Aaron) of Dexter, Missouri; by her sister, Judy Madsen of Dexter, Missouri; by four grandchildren, Kendall Pullum, Ashleigh Smith, Amber Smith, and Tucker Kyle; and by four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, April 29, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Betty Jean Williams of Lilbourn, Missouri daughter of Vearl and Jewel (Niswonger) Williams born on March 25, 1959 in Parma, Missouri and passed away on April 24. 2022 in Sikeston, Missouri at the age of 63 years.
Betty was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed word search puzzles, putting puzzles together, anything with Betty Boop. Mostly she loved her family.
Betty is survived by five brothers Billy (Janet) Williams of Miner, Missouri, Earl (Tammie) Williams of Tampa, Florida, Freddie Williams of Lilbourn, Missouri, Michael (Judy) Williams of Matthews, Missouri and Tommy (Phyllis) Williams of Catron, Missouri; three sisters Malinda Lawson of Howardville, Missouri, Bonnie Williams of Marston, Missouri and Karen (Keith) Harding of New Port News, Virginia; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Vearl and Jewel Williams; three brothers Curtis Williams, Johnny Williams and Kenneth Williams and one sister Brenda Williams. A host of family and friends also survive.
Celebration of life will be held on May 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at her brother and sister in laws home at 1681 County Highway 613, Matthews, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
Joshua “Lane” Russell Savat, age 16 of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away as the results of a tragic car accident Saturday, April 23, 2022.
Lane, son of Bree L. Savat and the late Joshua Russell Savat, was born on January 11, 2006, in Poplar Bluff. He was a sophomore at Poplar Bluff High School, where he played football and ran track for the Mules. When he was not playing sports, Lane enjoyed hanging out with family and friends, playing his guitar and ukulele, fishing, or playing video games. No matter what he did, Lane could always light up a room with his charming smile.
Lane is survived by his mom, Breanna Leigh Savat and dad Lanny Corcimiglia; three sisters, Zoe Savat, Hannah Corcimiglia, Reese Corcimiglia; only brother Jacob Corcimiglia; his grandparents, Darrell and Connie Taylor; Russell Savat, Glena Whitley-Savat; and Nancy Corcimiglia; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Thursday April 28, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Black River Coliseum. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the Coliseum, with Reverend Byron Beck of Fellowship General Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Poplar Bluff, with Committal rites being administered by Celebrant Deacon Nicholas Newton of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Rodger Dale Tharp, son of the late Walter and Gladys Tharp, was born on April 25, 1946, in Rochelle, Illinois, and departed this life on April 20, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 75 years.
Mr. Tharp was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a former employee of the Essex Special Road District in Essex, Missouri, and a resident of Essex. He enjoyed construction projects, reading and spending time with his family.
On March 8, 1980, in Dexter, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Sue Hughes. Mrs. Tharp survives of their home in Essex.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Susan Dowdy of Grayridge, Missouri; by his nephew, Bradley Dowdy; by his aunt and uncle, Maxine and Dallas Brown of Oak Ridge, Missouri; by his cousin, Lavonda Cone of Festus, Missouri; and by four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Jones, Riley Glass, Tyler Tharp, and Alyssa Tharp.
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by his birth mother, Willette Tharp Dowdy; by his brother, Robert Walter Dowdy, and by his sister, Janie Forrister.
