Stoddard County, Missouri - The National Weather Service in Paducah, Kentucky has issued a Freezing Rain Advisory for Stoddard County, Missouri.
- THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PADUCAH HAS ISSUED A FREEZING RAIN ADVISORY... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO NOON CST MONDAY.
- * IMPACT: LATE TONIGHT RAIN IS EXPECTED TO FALL ONTO FREEZING TEMPERATURES AT THE SURFACE POSSIBLY CAUSING TRAVEL ISSUES MAINLY ON ELEVATED SURFACES SUCH AS BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES.
- * TIMING: RAIN SHOULD START CHANGING OVER TO FREEZING RAIN OVER PARTS OF SOUTHERN ILLINOIS AND SOUTHEAST MISSOURI AFTER MIDNIGHT... THEN MIGRATE SOUTHEAST AS TEMPERATURES CONTINUE TO DECREASE.
- * ICE ACCUMULATIONS: ICE ACCUMULATIONS IN MOST AREAS SHOULD BE LIGHT BUT A FEW AREAS ALONG AND EITHER SIDE OF A LINE FROM CAPE GIRARDEAU TO POPLAR BLUFF MISSOURI COULD RECEIVE SLIGHTLY HIGHER AMOUNTS.
- * OTHER IMPACTS: PERSONS TRAVELING ACROSS THE ADVISORY LATE TONIGHT THROUGH MIDDAY MONDAY SHOULD DO SO WITH EXTREME CAUTION... ESPECIALLY WHEN CROSSING BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES.
- PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
- A FREEZING RAIN ADVISORY MEANS THAT LESS THAN ONE QUARTER INCH OF FREEZING RAIN OR FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL CAUSE HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS. SLOW DOWN AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
