
Lee Roy “Red” Burns, son of the late Walter L. Burns and Locie J. Jackson Burns, was born on October 27, 1924 in Dexter, Missouri and passed away on November 1, 2013 at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter at the age of 89 years.
Mr. Burns was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Dexter and a resident of Dexter. He formerly was employed at Monarch Feed Mill and Ozark Dairy.
On April 1, 1965 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Burns in Stoddard County, Missouri. Mrs. Burns survives at the home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Roy D. Burns and Troy L. Burns, both of Dexter; by one step-daughter, Deborah Wilson of Dexter; by eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Dennis L. Burns; by one daughter, Carol Rice; by one step-son, Mike Harris; by two brothers, Arthur Burns and Luther Burns; and by two grandchildren, Patrick Rice and Jonathan Rice.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, November 4, 2013 from 12:30 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday November 4, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev.
Mike Kohlbaker officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.
