
Evadean Ruby Troxell, daughter of the late Ben Holt Colyer and Vernie Mae Monroe Colyer, was born March 21, 1925 in Bloomfield, Missouri and passed into heaven surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 29th.
Evadean was raised in Bloomfield, graduating from Bloomfield High School in 1944. Evadean was a young member of the Bloomfield Methodist Church, played the violin in the Bloomfield High School Orchestra and loved to dance. Upon graduating from high school, she worked for Bennett Wholesale as a bookkeeper. As a young farm wife, she assisted with the birthing of farm animals, was in charge of many cotton choppers and cotton pickers and prepared large noon day meals for the farm hands.
In 1958, she married J. D. Troxell who became a loving father to the Cox siblings, Mike, Patty, Peggy and Mark. A son, James Dennis Troxell was born to this union.
Soon after their marriage, Evadean and J. D. became owner/operators of Dexter Aircraft in Dexter with Evadean doing the bookwork and J. D. doing the aerial crop spraying. The couple enjoyed dancing and fishing.
Evadean is survived by two sons, J. D. Troxell and Mark (Tresa) Cox; by two daughters, Patty (Bud) Shell and Peggy (Randy) Kinder all of Dexter; and by seven grandchildren, Todd Kinder, Chasity McLaughlin of Dexter, Mark Anthony Cox of Bloomfield, Travis Kinder of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Deseree Owens of Bloomfield, Michele Owens of Puxico and Susan Wilson.
Evadean was great-grandmother to Abigail and Madelyn Kinder, Miller and Quincey McLaughlin, Blake, Madison, Chelsea and Mason Cox, Lauren Nuhaus, Jordan Adams, Kara and Rallen Owens, Adysen Shepphard, Ty and Charyle Rose Owens and Brayden and great-great-grandmother to Bentley Cox, Owen Miller, Grace and Chloe Nuhaus, Jace Hueckel and Cade Poe.
She is also survived by one brother, Thomas Colyer of Ava, Missouri, one sister, Lois Watson of Pevely, Missouri and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Evadean was preceded in death by her husband, J. D. Troxell, her son, Michael Avra Cox and her brother, Ben Holt, Jr.
Visitation will take place at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter Friday, November 1st from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. with service to follow at 1:00 P.M.
Miss Pat Crane of Essex will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Missouri.
Memorial donations may be presented to the Stoddard County Children’s Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.
