Dexter, Missouri- The Stoddard County Nutrition Center will have a Chocolate Bake Sale on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Ladies from the Church of Christ baked and donated all the goodies. Proceeds will go to Meals on Wheels.
"Meals on Wheels costs on average $28,000 a month to provide meals to more than 270 people daily in Stoddard County," commented Waynetta Rodgers, Director of the Stoddard County Nutrition Center. We have to supplement our federal funding by 30%."
"Fundraisers like this are essential and we hope to sell lots of chocolate on Tuesday!"
The Stoddard County Nutrition Center is located at 23 West Stoddard Street.
Dexter, Missouri - Dr. Dodson Cravens, will provide a program open to anyone interested in learning about Diabetes, Nutrition, Weight Loss, and Exercise!
Cravens is the Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services and Director of Diabetes Education Team at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. The event is sponsored by Regional Healthcare Foundation in Dexter.
There will be an emphasis on Diabetes, but valuable information on weight loss and improving general health will also be provided.
The event is free and will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Regional Healthcare Foundation at Cox Corner located at 527 N. Walnut Street in Dexter.
Four $25 Walmart gift cards will be given away as door prizes.
If Dexter XI Schools are out for inclement weather, this program will be canceled or rescheduled.

Dexter, Missouri - U.S. Poly Enterprise located on the North Outer Road in Dexter, Missouri honored two of their own this week. Linda Payton and Rose Chadwell will retire with a combined 47 plus years of service.
Rose Chadwell has worked at U.S. Poly for 26 years while Linda Payton has been an employee for 21 1/2 years. Both will experience retirement this year!
Both celebrated with a gathering of employees, cake, and congratulations all around on their retirement.
Jerry Cooper, Owner, and Jason Mattison, Production Manager, were both on hand to help Chadwell and Payton celebrate.

Cape Girardeau, Missouri - - Angelina Gracia Champion of Bernie, Missouri was recently initiated into the Honor Society of PHi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Champion was initiated at Southwest Missouri State University.
Only the top 10% of seniors and 7.5% of juniors ae eligible for membership.
