
Dexter, Missouri - U.S. Poly Enterprise located on the North Outer Road in Dexter, Missouri honored two of their own this week. Linda Payton and Rose Chadwell will retire with a combined 47 plus years of service.
Rose Chadwell has worked at U.S. Poly for 26 years while Linda Payton has been an employee for 21 1/2 years. Both will experience retirement this year!
Both celebrated with a gathering of employees, cake, and congratulations all around on their retirement.
Jerry Cooper, Owner, and Jason Mattison, Production Manager, were both on hand to help Chadwell and Payton celebrate.

Cape Girardeau, Missouri - - Angelina Gracia Champion of Bernie, Missouri was recently initiated into the Honor Society of PHi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Champion was initiated at Southwest Missouri State University.
Only the top 10% of seniors and 7.5% of juniors ae eligible for membership.
The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi (or simply Phi Kappa Phi is an honor society established in 1897 to recognize and encourage superior scholarship without restriction as to area of study and to promote the "unity and democracy of education". It is the third academic society in the United States to be organized around recognizing academic excellence, and is the oldest all-discipline honor society. The society's motto is "Let the love of learning rule humanity", and its mission is "to recognize and promote academic excellence in all fields of higher education and to engage the community of scholars in service to others.

Essex, Missouri - Farm Credit hosted an Appreciation Breakfast on Saturday, January 27, 2018 for farmers and clients at the Lion's Den in Essex, Missouri.
Farmers are the backbone of our great nation. It is amazing to realize how agriculture impacts our lives every day. Food and fiber products play a major role in each part of our lives and without them we would perish. Our country would perish. Farm Credit knows that. Together they make things grow!
The breakfast was free to those who attended. Biscuits, gravy, bacon, and eggs were on the menu and each seemed appreciative of the breakfast.
"I worked for Farm Credit for thirty years," commented Tom Love, who really enjoyed his plate of bacon!
"We hope to make this an annual event during January," commented Mark Zabelin, Dexter Farm Credit VP/Branch Manager. "I believe we served about 100 people on Saturday and were surprised by the turnout. It was a good morning for sure."

Dexter, Missouri - Jadyn Northcutt, Dexter HIgh School student, has organized a fundraiser in memory of DHS school nurse, Linda Milam.
All proceeds will go to her family to help with medical expenses.
She will be selling bracelets for $3 each with Linda's name on them on Friday, February 2nd at the Bearcat Event Center during Friday night's boys basketball game against Advance.
A table will be set up in the lobby. There will also be a raffle drawing for a family to win a mini session and 11x14 portrait from Tiny Soul Studios. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5.
The winner will be drawn during the half-time of the varsity game.

Poplar Bluff, Missouri - The community members who help organize the Badge of Honor Benefit Run have set the date for April 14, 2018. To date this is the largest run thus far raising more money than any other Badge of Honor event.
The benefit provides support to three groups which assist first responders who have dedicated their lives to serving local residents.
The event raised about $16,000 last year and is expected to raise at least $25, 000 this year. Money will be divided between the Missouri Association State Troopers Emergency Relief Society, BackStoppers, and the local chapter of the Missouri Fraternal Order of Police.
The race will start and end at three Rivers College which has hosted it for the past two years. Registration must be completed by March 1, 2018 for those runner who wish to receive a T-shirt and finisher's medal. Race begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 14th.
The cost to register is also less in advance; however you can register the morning of the race.
Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers in each race category for female and male participants. Medals will be awarded to the top three among age group categories.
