Malden, MO - The Bloomfield boys golf team opened their season with a 9-hole victory on Tuesday at the Malden Country Club against NMCC, Caruthersville, and Malden.
The Wildcats shot 190 followed by Caruthersville 214, NMCC 238, and Malden 240.
"Today we did better than I was anticipating under the circumstances," commented Bloomfield golf coach Travis Westbrook. "Playing our first match of the year in not ideal conditions (rained all day), I was really happy with our scores.
"Jeffrey Jarrell had a really good day, a 42 today is something he should be proud of at the Malden golf course. None of them have played competitive individual golf for almost two years, so I was more than pleased with all of our results."
"Hopefully we can only improve from here," finished Westbrook.
Bloomfield’s Jeffrey Jarrell earned medalist honors with a 6-over 42. Nathan Lockhart’s 48, Bryant Vaughn’s 48 and Dawson Hill’s 52 rounded out the Wildcats’ team score.
