DHS Track and Field Senior Night Featuring Carter Dorton

Dexter, MO - The Dexter Bearcats held their first home track meet since 2016 and it was a special afternoon featuring the 2021 graduating seniors.

In 2017, the track was deemed unsafe for competition because of cracks in the surface. With the recent $15 million bond issued passed by voters in April of 2019 the Dexter School District created a new track at Charles Bland Stadium and created areas for triple and long jump, a pole vault runway and a javelin area.  The shot put and discus areas have also been updated.

Seniors and their families were honored.

Carter Dorton  is the son of Brett and Christy Dorton.

Carter is a member of the Bearcat Cross Country team, basketball team and track and team all 4 years.

After Carter graduates, he plans to attend Arkansas State University - Jonesboro and major in business.

As a member of the track team, his most memorable moment at DHS is when Coach Waldner put Seth, Cole, and Gavin on the 4x400 meter relay with Carter.
