Dee Eugene Griffin, son of the late Dee Ves Griffin and Florence Corene Horn Griffin was born in Dexter, Missouri on January 3, 1932 and departed this life in The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on February 11, 2019 at the age of 87.

Mr. Griffin had served his country in the United States Air Force having retired after 24 years. He then worked for United States Postal Service for 20 years until his retirement.  He was a member of Northside Baptist Church of Bernie, Missouri and a resident of Dexter.

He was united in marriage to Lois Crow in Bernie, Missouri on July 15, 1958.   Mrs. Griffin survives in their home in Dexter.

Other survivors include one son, Mark D. Griffin & wife Diane of Wylie, Texas; by one daughter, Diane Siebert & husband Scott of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; by three brothers, Dorman Griffin of Valrico, Florida, Doyle Griffin of Bernie, Missouri and Dale Griffin of Dexter, Missouri; by two sisters, Dorothy Burks of Dexter, Missouri and Donis Barker of Arnold, Missouri; by three grandchildren, Griffin, Garrett and Mallory Siebert; also by other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death other than by his parents, by two sisters, Delma Williams and Doris Bowman.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie on Thursday Morning, February 14, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. 

Interment will follow in Bernie Cemetery, With Full Military Honors.

Guy Poplin Perkins, son of the late Paul Perkins and Roberta Poplin Perkins, was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on October 24, 1938 and departed this life at his residence in Bernie, Missouri on February 11, 2019 at the age of 80.

Mr. Perkins was a farmer.  He attended Word of Faith Family Church of Bernie and New Covenant Fellowship/Crusade Center of Dexter, Missouri.

He was united in marriage to Judy Cox in Dexter, Missouri on August 10, 1958.  Mrs. Perkins survives in their home in Bernie.

Other survivors include one son, Tyler Perkins & wife Cindy of Bernie, Missouri; by three grandsons, Dylan Perkins, Garrett Perkins & wife Amber and Evan Perkins; also by other relatives and friends.

A Memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri.  Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

Donald W. Hudgens Sr. 75 of Bloomfield, peacefully went to be with the Lord on February 11, 2019 at 8:38 surrounded by his loving family at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Donald was born on March 5, 1943 at Parma, to Lloyd and Ruby Mae Parker Hudgens.

Donald always had a passion for planes and spent many years flying with his best friend Terry Irwin and his sister Bonnie who is also a pilot.  He was an aircraft mechanic for Air Evac in Cape Girardeau and also at Sikeston Memorial Airport before he retired.

He was an all-around outdoorsman.  He loved hunting with his boys and fishing with his girls and grandchildren on the farm.  He loved working on the farm with Mark, Bonnie and Bill.  Spending time with his family was his heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Edward Hudgens of Oran and Jerry Hudgens of Calvert City, Ky.

Survivors include, one sister Bonnie (Ken) Kornstett of Bloomfield, one brother Bill Hudgens of Oran and one sister-in-law Judy Hudgens of Calvert City, Ky; four children, Dwana (Buddy) McClaine of Benton, Don (Penny) Hudgens of Marble Hill, Deanna Hudgens of Benton and Darin (Tora) Hudgens of Bertrand; eleven grandchildren, AJ, Mark, Malori, Marrisa, Cody, Keri, JoHannah, SaVannah, Jody, Austin and Lilli; ten great-grandchildren, Solan, Kirrilee, Nash, Celia, Easton, Ridge, Holton, Liam, Luke and Beatley.  He was surely blessed.

A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Dexter Cemetery.

Barbara Ann McDonald, daughter of the late Thomas Lee and Emma Allene Vincent Bolin, was born in Dexter, Missouri on January 31, 1947, and passed away at her home in Bernie on February 10, 2019, at the age of 72 years and 10 days.

Mrs. McDonald had been a resident of Bernie most of her life. She attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Bernie, Missouri and had been a real estate agent. She enjoyed piano music, sewing and doing crafts.

On April 13, 1963, she was married to Don Gene McDonald in East Prairie, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 4, 2010.

Surviving are two daughters and spouses, Lori & Dale Mathis of Bernie, Kim & Bobby Burton of Dexter; two sons and spouse, Nicholas Lee McDonald of St. Charles, Illinois, David Thomas & Debbie McDonald of Shinglehouse, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three sisters and spouses, Janie & Everett Taylor of Benton, Yvonne & Nick Barrese of Prescott, Arizona, Margaret & Jerry Simpson of Bernie; and one brother, Calvin & Bonnie Bolin of St. Charles, Illinois. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Faye Bolin, Tina Joyce Kirkman; and two brothers, Fred Lee Bolin and Robert Eugene Bolin.

Friends may call on Thursday, February 14, 2019, from 11:00 am until time of services at 2:00 pm at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri with Calvin Bolin of St. Charles, Illinois officiating.

Doyle Gene Sanders of Essex, son of the late Elmer Lewis and Bessie Irene Purcell Sanders, was born in Essex, Missouri on November 12, 1939, passed away at his home in Essex on February 8, 2019, at the age of 79 years, 2 months and 26 days.

Doyle had lived in Essex area all his life. He had worked as a farm laborer until he retired. He was of the Pentecostal Faith. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

On June 7,1961, he married Julia Sue Burton in Essex, Missouri. She preceded him in death on February 15, 1982.

Surviving are one daughter, Penny Hall of Essex; two sons, Dale Sanders of Malden, Gary Sanders of Essex; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Roy Sanders of Essex. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Irene Sanders; four brothers, Elmer J., James, Donnie and Charles Dee Sanders; and five sisters Geraldine Duncan, Mildred Williams, Anna Lea Duley, Wilma Jean Alberson, and Martha DeSmythe.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, after 12:00 pm until time of services at 2:00 pm at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Julian Lerma of Portageville officiating.

Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery Essex with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
