Leonard Theodore Boyt formerly of Dudley, son of the late C. C. and Lola Blanche Taylor Boyt, was born in Parma, Missouri on January 14, 1933, and passed away at the Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center in Dexter on April 25, 2018, at the age of 85 years, 3 months and 11 days.

Leonard had lived in Dudley since 1947 and had retired from Arvin Automotive. He was a member of the Corinth General Baptist Church near Puxico where he was a deacon.

Surviving are two sons and spouse, Chad Boyt of Wappapello, Greg (Kelly) Boyt of Ravenwood, Missouri; two grandchildren; Morgan Franklin of Columbia, Alexander Boyt of Ravenwood, Missouri; three great grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy O'Neal of Puxico, Gloria Clowes of Marble Hill, Donna Boykin of Grandin; one brother, Perry Boyt of Dexter. Other family and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl, Doyle & Clarence Boyt, and three sisters, Pansy Hopkins, Mary Morgan and Margie Worley.

Visitation was held at Watkins and Sons Funeral Service in Dexter after 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2018. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Clark of Puxico officiating.

Internment will be in the Barker Cemetery near Bernie with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

Charles Lynn Williams, son of the late James B. Williams and Eathel Parrish Williams was born on June 12, 1941 in Dexter, Missouri and departed this life on April 26, 2018 in the emergency room at Southeast Health of Stoddard County at the age of 76 years.

Mr. Williams was a Veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War.  He was a former employee of Williams Moving Company of Dexter.  He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri where he was Chairman of the Deacons and a Sunday School Teacher.

On April 5, 1963, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Wilkison in Caldwell, Missouri.  Mrs. Williams survives of the home near Bloomfield, Missouri.

Besides his wife Phyllis, he is survived by two sons, Shane Williams (Margaret) of Jonesboro, Arkansas and David Williams (Kathy) of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; by one brother, Harold Williams (Elsie) of Dexter, Missouri; by six grandchildren, Katelyn Carpenter, Darcie Williams, Morgan Williams, Zach Williams, Reagan Williams and Ryleigh Williams; by one great-grandchild, Aleigha Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents, by two brothers, J. C. Williams and Sherrill Joe Williams.

Visitation was held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. 

Funeral services were conducted on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Lonny Mittag officiating. 

Interment followed at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Robert Dale Matney of Dexter, the son of the late Robert Drew and Luzell B. Ashley Matney, was born near East Prairie, Missouri on December 6, 1946, and passed away at his home in Dexter on April 23, 2018, at the age of 71 years, 4 months and 17 days.

Robert had lived in Dexter most of his life. He had worked as a custodian for the IXL Handle Mill. He attended the Emmanuel Baptist Church and enjoyed working on lawn mowers and cars.

On May 13, 1977, he married Norma June Parker in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Surviving are his wife, Norma Matney of Dexter, Missouri; one son, Anthony Matney of Dexter; two daughters, Tonya Loafman and Angie Matney both of Dexter; four grandchildren; five sisters, Janie DeJournett, Verla Phillips and Brenda Richardson all of Dexter, Ruth Ann Scott of Bloomfield, Carolyn Hays of Morehouse; one brother, Mark A. Matney of Dexter. Other family and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by brother, Winford "Wimpy" Matney and three in infancy.

F. L. Robinson, son of the late Fred Lee Robinson and Florence Clue Green Robinson, was born on August 28, 1930 in Hornersville, Mo. and departed this life at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo. on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 87 years of age.

Mr. Robinson was a lifelong resident of Southeast Missouri and a retired farmer.  He loved being outside working on his extensive garden, woodworking, and especially fishing, whether it be in a pond, lake or the ocean.

He graduated from Bernie High School in 1949 and then married Helen Margaret Lizenbee on June 21, 1951 in Piggott, Arkansas.  Mrs. Robinson survives of the home in Dexter, Mo.

Other survivors include: one son, Alan Gene Robinson and wife Jeanie of Dexter, Mo; one daughter, Brenda Kay Robinson of Dexter, Mo; by one granddaughter, Dawn Marie Smathers and husband Daniel of Joplin, Mo; by two great-grandchildren, Jeanna Dawn Smathers and Brant William Smathers of Joplin, Mo.

F. L. was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and two grandsons, Brent Alan Robinson and Dustin Lee McGhee.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 PM on Thursday, April 26, 2018 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Loren Stephens officiating.  Interment will follow at the Chalk Bluff Cemetery.

Lewis H. Storms, age 83, formerly of Dexter, Missouri, died April 19, 2018, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born in Crowder on September 10, 1934 to the late Ermon M. and Hazel I. Clark Storms.

He graduated Vanduser High School and Southeast Missouri State with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and began his teaching career in Bloomfield, in 1957, and later Campbell.  He finished his 31 year teaching career as a middle school science teacher in the Dexter Public School system. He was a life time member of the Missouri State Teachers Association.

He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Sharon Storms of O’Fallon, Mo.  One sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Larry Richard of  Overland, Mo. Three nieces and one nephew.  Seven great nieces and 2 great nephews.

Visitation is scheduled Friday April 27, from 5 to 7 at Ponder Funeral Home where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday April 28. Interment will follow in the New Morley Cemetery at Morley.

Pallbearers are Josh Cindrell, Mike Hatley, Mitch Landrum, Gary Owens, Todd Wages, and John Wright.
