Eugene “Gene” Delbert Gadberry, son of the late Daniel Gadberry and Clarsa Mae Simmons Eubanks, was born on March 16, 1927, in Victor, Arkansas and departed this life on March 4, 2024, at the Iron County Medical Center in Pilot Knob, Missouri at the age of 96.
Gene was a Veteran of the United States Army and served in WWII. He enjoyed collecting and re-selling items from Antique stores and going for rides and finding new restaurants. He had worked as a truck driver.
He is survived by his daughter in law, Sheri Gadberry of Germantown, Tennessee; by two sons William "Bill" Eugene Gadberry (Yvette) of Lawrence, Kansas, and John Gadberry (Rhonda) of Lancing, Michigan; by his grandchildren, Isabella Gadberry, William, Matthew and Jack Gadberry, and Jason Gadberry; by his brother, Bob Eubanks of Harrison, Arkansas; and by his caretaker of twenty years, Christina Golden of Des Arc, Missouri.
Other than by his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Gadberry; by nine brothers, Edd Eubanks, Dr. Odus K. Eubanks Jr., Jerry Eubanks, Cecil Gadberry, Tommy Eubanks, Argus Eubanks, Odus K. Eubanks Jr., and Robert K. Eubanks; and by five sisters, Ruby Moore, Imogene Mackey, Stella Powell, Shirley Gaines, and Edna Ruth Eubanks.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, March 11, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
