In Memory of Geneva Clorine Vaughn

Geneva Clorine Vaughn, daughter of the late Johnny R. Davis and Edith Pearl Gunnels Davis, was born on June 2, 1936, in Qulin, Missouri and departed this life on March 3, 2024, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 87 years.


Mrs. Vaughn was a former employee of Don’s Bi-Rite in Bloomfield, Missouri, and the laundry department at the Bloomfield Nursing Center. She was a member of the Bible Tabernacle in Bloomfield, Missouri. She loved spending time with her family, playing card and board games and cooking dumplings.


On September 23, 1967, in Essex, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Arthur “Bud” Vaughn. Mr. Vaughn preceded her in death on December 30, 2012.


She is survived by five sons, Loyd Lee Wills, Jr. and wife Connie Jo of Bloomfield, Missouri, John Leonard Wills of Bloomfield, Missouri, James William Vaughn and wife Sue of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Richard Arthur Vaughn and wife Heather of Bloomfield, Missouri, and DeWitt Vaughn and wife Doris of Wentzville, Missouri; three daughters, Gloria Jean Damron and husband Ray of Guymon, Oklahoma, Becky Lee Odum of Essex, Missouri, Vicky Sharee Wilson and husband Keith of Bloomfield, Missouri; one step-daughter, Alice Faye Vaughn of Middleton, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; two sister, Jean Pusczek of Indianapolis, Indiana and Freda Farris of Ellsinore, Missouri.


Other than her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one grandchild; by one great-grandchild; by three brothers, James Vernon Davis, William Floyd Davis, and Hubert Davis; by two sisters, Viola Wright and Jenevie Davis.


Visitation will be held on Thursday March 7, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will then be conducted Thursday March 7, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. in the Mathis Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Steve Tippen. Interment will follow at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
