Jeanie LaVeda Riddle Christian, daughter of the late Albert Riddle and Mary Hufford Riddle, was born on October 23, 1933 in Dexter, Missouri, and departed this life on February 4, 2023, at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 89 years.
Jeanie was a homemaker but for a few years she worked outside of the home. Late in life she completed her GED and began college courses at Arkansas Northeastern. She was a member of Second General Baptist Church in Dexter, and a resident of Dexter.
Mrs. Christian was united in marriage to John Willard Christian in Piggott, Arkansas. Mr. Christian preceded her in death on February 29, 1996.
She is survived by five children, Patsy Christian Mick of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Carolyn Christian White of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Judy Christian of Bloomfield, Missouri, John Christian of Dexter, Missouri, and Carlos Christian of Dexter, Missouri; by eight grandchildren, Shelly Hart Young, Corey Hart, Trent White, Hayley White Kramer, Deana Christian Stevens, Adrienne Christian Culp, Tyler Christian, Garrett Christian, and Aaron Mick; by fifteen great-grandchildren, Dylan Bader, Brooke Bader Pennebaker, Rayne Young, Dalton Hart, Kaylea Hart, Avery Hart, Hoyt Kramer, Hayes Kramer, Heidi Kramer, Rayce Mick, Jack Christian, Brooks Christian, Mallory Culp, Isaac Stevens, and Isabella Stevens; by five great-great grandchildren, Kalleigh Pennebaker, Paislee Pennebaker, Harper Jo Bader, Ridge Bader, and Bennett Bader; and by a very special friend of 25 years, Bobby Hix of Malden, Missouri.
Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Ceciley Anne White, in infancy.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Dale Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.
