In Memory of Nola Beauton Jennings

Nola Beauton Jennings, daughter of the late Elzie Dennis Long and Vercie Martz Long was born on April 4, 1930, in Saffell, Arkansas, and departed this life on December 31, 2021, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the age of 91.

Mrs. Jennings was a member of the Pleasant Grove Community Church in Pyletown. She had worked at the Brown Shoe Company and Elders Manufacturing. She was quietly involved in different organizations throughout her life. She was awarded the Stoddard County Women’s Democratic Club Bessie V. Truman award. She helped senior citizens file and prepared their taxes. She was a vocal supporter of American made products and spoke to the United States Congress on behalf of Brown Shoe Company in support of helping American Factories compete against international imports.

On December 27, 1947 she was united in marriage to Leslie Charles Jennings in Piggott, Arkansas. Mr. Jennings preceded her in death on November 8, 1981.

She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Kintop and husband Bruce of North Aurora, Illinois and Lynda Beckman of Brookfield, Wisconsin; by seven grandchildren, Richard Gaines and significant other Carla Lay of Fredericktown, Missouri, Doug Stinson Jr. of Puxico, Missouri, Matt Kintop and wife Shauna of Springfield, Illinois, Justin Beckman and wife Jessica of Brookfield, Wisconsin, Kelly Lestina and husband Jason of Aurora, Illinois, Lesley Kurth and husband Chuck of Aurora, Illinois, Ryan Beckman and wife Jenny of Brookfield, Wisconsin; thirteen great-grandchildren, Tyler Gaines of West Columbia, South Carolina, Cody King and husband Allen of Weatherford, Texas, Jaelinn, Jalonnie and JaShaun all of Fredericktown, Missouri, Madison Kintop of Springfield, Illinois, Madelynn and Grace Beckman of Brookfield, Wisconsin, Jackson Lestina of Aurora, Illinois, Ryder and Olive Kurth of Aurora, Illinois, Ellie and Finley Beckman of Brookfield, Wisconsin; and by one sister, Dora Goins of Phoenix, Arizona.

Other than by her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Sheria Stinson; by her siblings, Rose Bargen, Loletta Long, Dennis Wayne Long, Lola Beatrice Johnson, Violet Long, Joseph Long, Huey Long, Dewey Wade Long, Stella Brown and Della Watson.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Friday, January 7, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Paul Pierce officiating.

Interment will follow in the Sycamore Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sycamore Cemetery, c/o Bobbi Lynn Whilite, 13976 County Road 660, Dexter, MO 63841, envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
