Helen Joan Coffey, daughter of the late Edward Lankford and Fern Kimbrel Lankford, was born on May 1, 1934 in Essex, Missouri, and departed this life on March 5, 2021 at Dexter Living Center in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 86 years.
Mrs. Coffey was a former Licensed Practical Nurse and had also worked as a Teacher’s Aide at Central Elementary in Dexter, Missouri. She enjoyed gardening and walking, and was an avid reader. Joan was a devoted mother and grandmother and expressed her love through cooking.
On January 5, 1952, in Piggott, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Curtis Coffey. Mr. Coffey preceded her in death on August 25, 2005.
She is survived by her son, Steve Coffey of Scottsdale, Arizona; by three daughters, Patty Lambert of Dexter, Missouri, Angie Keenan (Tom) of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Cindy Burkemper (Gary) of O’Fallon, Missouri; by three grandchildren, Mike (Jennie), Andy (Kami), and Sarah; and by four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Eli, Karsyn, and Noah.
Graveside services will be conducted at Dexter Cemetery on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.
