6:00 pm Call to Order

4.    Consent Agenda

Approve board agenda.

Approve minutes of January 19, 2021 regular board meeting.  

 Approve payment of bills

5. Public Comments (At this time someone who is pre-registered with the Board Secretary prior to the beginning of the Board meeting to present a position on a specific agenda item or who is pre-registered with the superintendent in writing at least 5 days prior to the beginning of the Board meeting to present a general comment about a non-agenda item will be given time for presentation to the Board of Education. Each speaker is limited to 3 minutes. A maximum of 15 minutes is allowed for this public comment section. Please, just one spokesperson per group; individuals may speak only once per meeting; time regulated by Board Chairman. Note: Individuals wishing to convey a complaint about procedures, regulations, or personnel will not be scheduled to address the Board until the District’s complaint procedure has been exhausted; Complaints directed at specific personnel will not be heard in open session.)

Hill Elected Missouri State SR BETA President

During a recent Missouri State BETA Convention, several Bloomfield High School and Junior High School students qualified to attend the National BETA Convention in Orlando, Florida.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Missouri State convention was conducted in a virtual manner on February 3, 2021; however the National BETA Convention is slated to be a live event.

Bloomfield will be well represented at the National Convention.  TJ Bracken was elected as the Junior BETA State Vice President and Dawson Hill was elected to the office of SR BETA State President. for the 2021-2022 year.

Hill also earned 1st Place with his campaign skit.  Bracken was awarded 3rd Place for his campaign skit.

In addition to their efforts, eight other students earned a trip to the National Convention.

Missouri Senior BETA

McKenzie Bowen placed 5th in Agriscience

Abby Pyland placed 3rd in English

Haleigh Poe placed 3rd in Creative Writing

Bloomfield’s Service Learning Showcase placed 5th at the state convention.

Missouri Junior BETA

Andrew Gandt placed 5th in 6th grade Math

Caleb Upchurch placed 2nd in 8th grade Math

Logan Williamson placed 4th in 8th grade science

Law Graser placed 4th in 8th grade Social Studies

Braden McCollum placed 5th in Woodworking

Nimmo Selected as Missouri State SR BETA Secretary

During a recent Missouri State BETA Convention, several Bernie High School and Junior High School students qualified to attend the National BETA Convention in Orlando, Florida.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Missouri State convention was conducted in a virtual manner on February 3, 2021; however the National BETA Convention is slated to be a live event.

John Nimmo was elected to the position of Missouri Senior BETA State Secretary.

Bernie will be well represented at the National Convention as they are sending nine students.

Missouri Senior BETA

Allie Pulliam placed first in Creative Art and 2nd in Recyclable Art.

Alonna Barker and Bailey Cannady placed 2nd in 3-D Design.

Mackenzie Powell, Sara Guzman and Sierra Kirkpatrick placed 1st in Portfolio.

Missouri Junior BETA

Jon Aycock placed 4th in 6th grade Math,

Blair Pleiming placed 2nd in 7th grade ELA,

Alexa Dillinger placed 3rd in Apparel Design.

Tatum Baxter placed 5th in Two Dimensional Art.

Dexter Beta Students Qualify for National BETA Convention

Dexter, MO - During a recent Missouri State BETA Convention, several Dexter High School and Middle School students qualified to attend the National BETA Convention in Orlando, Florida.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Missouri State convention was conducted in a virtual manner on February 3, 2021; however the National BETA Convention is slated to be a live event.

Dexter Senior BETA members who qualified are:

Maddie Glaus, 1st Place 10th Grade Math

Evan Grobe, 1st Place 12th Grade Social Studies

Kinleigh Chappell, 1st Place Division 1 Speech

Layne Medler, 2nd Place 12th Grade Language Arts

Rachel Lin, 2nd Place Division II Onsite Drawing and 3rd Place Division II Mixed Media

Quiz Bowl earned 2nd Place: Rachel Lin, Hannah Guy, Evan Grobe, Tara Williams, and Layne Medler.

Hannah Guy, 2nd Place, Division 1 Jewelry and 4th Place, 10th Grade Social Studies

Alise Howell, 3rd Place 10th Grade Language Arts and 3rd Place Division 1 Creative Writing

Makenzie Hutson, 4th Place Division II Color Photography

Kennedy Bess, 4th place 11th Grade Math

Andrew Ellinghouse, 4th Place 12th Grade Math

Tara Williams, 5th place 12th Grade Science

Representing Dexter on the Junior BETA level are Houston Neely who placed 2nd in 7th grade math, Adeline Prance who placed 1st in 8th grade math and Korbin Williams who placed 1st in 8th grade science.
