Maurice J. Spore, son of the late Bill and Golden Hart Spore, was born on July 13, 1926, near Fisk, Missouri and departed this life on March 2, 2020 at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 93 years.
Mr. Spore is a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II as a construction engineer in the Philippines and Japan. In civilian life, he managed Sears stores in Dexter, Missouri and Memphis, Tennessee.
Maurice was a member of New Bethel Church near Dexter for more than 60 years, having served as a deacon and Sunday school superintendent.
After returning home from World War II, he was married to Miss Ruth Jackson in Pontiac, Michigan on November 6, 1948. To this union was born a son, Everette.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Ruth of 71 years; his son, Everette and daughter-in-law Janet of Henderson, Nevada; his granddaughter, Natalie Spore of Henderson, Nevada; his grandson, Jason Spore of McDonough, Georgia; his sister, Frieda Young of Dexter, Missouri; two step-sisters, Alice Pruder of St. Louis, Missouri and Audrey Ramsey of Florissant, Missouri; and his step-brother, Jack Ross of Marshfield, Missouri

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Chapel on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Gerald Hart officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, March 9, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Abigail "Abby" Cohen 22, passed away Saturday February 29, 2020 at Missouri Delta Community Hospital in Sikeston. .
She was born in Cape Girardeau, Mo. on April 15, 1997 to Stacy Linhart of East Prairie and Jama Hunt Furgerson of East Prairie.
She was office manager of Sikeston License Bureau. On April 20, 2019 in Destin Florida she married Christopher Cohen who survives of the home in Sikeston.
In addition to her husband and parents she is survived by, one brother Cooper Furgerson of East Prairie. Four sisters Alicia Backfisch, Morgan Linhart, Macey Linhart, Kayla Linhart all of East Prairie. One step brother Shawn Furgerson of Cape Girardeau. Paternal Grandparents Ernie and Linda Linhart of East Prairie. Her step mother Felicia Linhart, step father Michael Furgerson, father in law Michael Cohen, Mother in law Teresa (Travis Burger) Cohen, grand father and grandmother in law Terry and Cindy Cole. great grandmother in law Betty Cole and Mary Jo Rolwing.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 8, From 12:00 noon until time of service at 3:00 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. The Rev. Mitchell Jackson will officiate.
Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Cohen, Noah Burger, Zane Davis, Matthew Rolwing, Ryan Buttry, Johnathan Brewer.

James Britton, son of Ruth Peters Britton and the late Ollie “Ott” Britton, was born on January 10, 1959 in Essex, Missouri and departed this life on March 1, 2020 at his residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 61 years.
Mr. Britton was a former employee of Brown Shoe Factory and he was a handy man for a saw mill. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dexter and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his mother, Ruth Britton of Dexter.

A Funeral Mass will then be conducted at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with Father William Hennecke officiating.
Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery.

James R. Stogsdill, son of the late James Perry Stogsdill and Elizabeth Francis Boulware Stogsdill, was born on March 20, 1928 in Marble Hill, Missouri and departed this life on February 29, 2020 at Southeast Health of Stoddard County at the age of 91 years.
Mr. Stogsdill was a veteran of the United States Army. For 43 years, he was a laborer for Granite City Steel in Granite City, Illinois and he was a preacher. He was a resident of Dexter, Missouri and he loved the St. Louis Cardinals.
In 1963, in Granite City, Illinois, he was united in marriage to Verda Ryan. Mrs. Stogsdill preceded him in death on September 18, 1996.
He is survived by four daughters, Leah Stogsdill of Bernie, Missouri, Jackie Kelley of Piggott, Arkansas, Betty Rainey of Granite City, Illinois, and Kathy McCarty of White Oak, Texas; by two sisters, Helen Patton of Rolla, Missouri and Bonnie Curtis of Bristol, Virginia; by eleven grandchildren; by twenty-three great-grandchildren; and by three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by his son, James Ronald Stogsdill; by his daughter, Sandy Gaudreault; by his brother, Raymond; and by four sisters, Leona, Lorene, Opal, and Ruby.

August Gene Jackson, son of the late August Franklin Jackson and Rose Parks Jackson, was born on June 29, 1927 in Aid, Missouri and departed this life on February 29, 2020 at Southeast Health of Stoddard County, in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 92 years and 8 months.
Mr. Jackson was a 1945 graduate of Bloomfield High School. Following graduation, he began working full-time on the family farm.
On July 21, 1945, he was united in marriage to Irma Lea Stephens, in Bloomfield, Missouri, and they had two daughters, Martha and Joyce. Mrs. Jackson preceded him in death on May 19, 2019. They were married for 73 years.
Mr. Jackson lived in the Aid community where he and Mrs. Jackson enjoyed farming together. He was a long-time member of Liberty Hill General Baptist Church in Aid, where he had served as a deacon and in various other positions throughout the years. He especially enjoyed teaching Sunday School. Currently, he was a member of First Baptist Church in Dexter.
During his earlier years of farming, Mr. Jackson served as treasurer on the Board of Supervisors of the Stoddard County Soil and Water Conservation District. He and his family enjoyed traveling to summer conferences across the state and meeting other farm families.
In retirement, he and Mrs. Jackson enjoyed traveling across the country, often taking grandchildren with them. Mr. Jackson joined Gideons International and he and Irma were active members for several years; visiting churches, attending camp meetings, and traveling to a few national conferences.
He is survived by two daughters, Martha Hughes and husband Joe of Jefferson City, Missouri and Joyce Kinder and husband Steve of Dexter, Missouri; by four grandchildren, Matthew Kinder and wife Sally of Dexter, Missouri, Leslie Pyle and husband Joe of Dexter, Missouri, Marianne Hughes of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Melissa Hughes of Wardsville, Missouri; and by nine great-grandchildren, Hannah Whitten and husband Pierson of Wardsville, Missouri, Peyton Luebbering of Wardsville, Missouri, James and Ava Faulconer of Jefferson City, Missouri, Emily, Katie and Lucy Pyle of Dexter, Missouri, and Rachel and Rebekah Kinder of Dexter, Missouri.
