Jackie L. Cooper, son of the late M. L. Cooper and Lula Moore Cooper, was born on September 12, 1944 in Bernie, Missouri and departed this life Thursday, November 14, 2019 at his home in Chesterfield, Missouri at the age of 75 years.
Mr. Cooper retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1028, in St. Louis, Missouri and a member of the Fellowship of Wildwood Baptist Church, in Wildwood, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Peggy Cox Cooper of Chesterfield, Missouri; by two sons, Jackie Cooper II and wife Cheryl of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Jeremy Cooper and wife Rayett of Colorado; by his step-daughter, Angelia Hearon of Alabama; by two brothers, Gene Cooper of Seattle, Washington and Kenneth Cooper of Dexter, Missouri; by his sister, Joann Bowman and husband Carlyn of Bernie, Missouri; by his granddaughter, Briget Cooper of Springfield, Missouri; by three great-nieces, Ashley, Lauren and Rylee; and by many nephews, nieces and friends.
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Marcus Cooper and Jim Cooper; and by his nephew, Steve Cooper.
Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, November 18, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted on Monday, November 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth Biggs officiating.
Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with full military honors.
