In Memory of Mary Evelyn Hardin

Mary Evelyn Hardin of Bloomfield, daughter of the late Charles Frank and Idalee Walker Rampley, was born near Bell City, Missouri on September 5, 1937, and passed away at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri on November 15, 2019, at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 10 days.

She had lived in Bloomfield most of her life. She had been a bus driver, baby sat and had managed Coleman's Restaurant.

She first married Dalton Hardin in Bell City and he preceded her in death in 1983. She later married Monroe Gilles in Bell City and he preceded her in death on Septembber 12, 1997.

Surviving are her companion of over 20 years, Randy Madden of Bloomfield; one daughter, Linda Jennings of Bernie; two sons, Ricky Hardin of Piedmont, Rocky Hardin of San Antonio, Texas; 2 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; and one brother, Kenneth Larry Rampley of Bloomfield. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son in infancy, two brothers Wayne and Dale Rampley, two sisters, Norma Deal and Mildred Bartolo.

Friends may visit on Monday, November 18, 2019, from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri, services to follow at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Gary Cooper of Advance, Missouri officiating.

Interment will follow at the Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Ethel Reatha Cravens

Ethel Reatha Cravens of Parma, daughter of the late Daniel J. and Dora E. Howard Painter, was born in Hartville, Missouri on February 2, 1919, and passed away at the New Madrid Living Center in New Madrid on November 12, 2019, at the age of 100 years, 9 months and 10 days.

She had lived in Parma since 1937. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Parma.

On September 14, 1937, she married Floyd H. Cravens in Hartville, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 14, 2000.

Surviving are three sons, Danny Cravens of Parma, Billy Cravens of New Madrid, Junior Cravens of Auburn, Georgia; five daughters, Lola Steiger of Poplar Bluff, Thelma Knight of French Village, Missouri, Ruby Porter of New Madrid, Linda Lewis of Sikeston, Retta Murphy of Wappapello; 22 grandchildren; over 60 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert and James "Cotton" Cravens, four brothers and two sisters.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 15, 2019, after 12:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Parma until time of services at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. G. L. Keene of New Madrid officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery in Bernie, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Robert “Bob” Alexander McRoy

Robert “Bob” Alexander McRoy, 85 of Auburn, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the Medical Center. Bob was a native of Bell City, Missouri and the son of the late Alex and Oma Mae McRoy.

He is also preceded in death by his late wife; Helen V. Roberts McRoy. 

Bob was a veteran of the United States Army, a retired Forklift Driver for General Motors with over 25 years of service and a member of New Harmony Missionary Baptist Church.  After retirement, Bob enjoyed small engine repair in his spare time.

Surviving children; Roger Keith McRoy of St. Louis Missouri, wife Marina, and Larry Michael McRoy of Russellville Kentucky. Five grandchildren; Bobbie jo Hulman, Tina Simmons, Roger Keith McRoy II , Stacey Hulman and Angel Hansen. 12 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren and one surviving sister, Mary Gilbee. He is also preceded in death by his son Richard Allen McRoy and 11 brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2019 at J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Bowling Green Gardens.

In Memory of Bonnie Sue Canoy

Bonnie Sue Canoy, 48, was born February 23, 1971 in Dexter to Susie Moore of Puxico and the late James Ray Daniel Canoy of Dexter. She passed away on November 08, 2019 as the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Park Hills, Missouri.

​Bonnie had several hobbies that she enjoyed doing but her favorites included cooking, crafting, and gardening. She was an amazing cook and baker from her signature fried chicken to a beautiful wedding cake that left you wanting more. If you ever went to her house you would have seen all her beautiful plants she grew and tended to on a daily basis. She could take a plant that had been damaged and was dying and bring it back to life. She loved animals and would take in every stray animal that she came across. She was a caring and giving person and it showed in all she did. She was a Sunday School teacher for several years and had several careers during her lifetime; including, working as a nursing assistant at the local nursing home. More than anything she loved her family; especially her boys.

​She is survived by her mother Susie Cross (John) of Puxico; two step-brothers Jon Cross (Christina) of Dexter and Chris Cross (Pam) of Puxico; half-sister Crystal Canoy of Dexter; her sons Joshua Rogers (Amanda) of Salem, IN; Christopher Rogers (Shelby) of Dexter; and Jordon Rogers (Cecelia) of Park Hills; as well as several other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father James Ray Daniel Canoy in 2006; two brothers, James Daniel Canoy and Daniel Ray Canoy; and an unborn child.

​Services will be held at Morgan and Sifford Funeral Home in Puxico, Thursday, November 14, 2019. Visitation will be at noon and the funeral service at 2 pm officiated by Jerry Canoy with burial services at Fagan Cemetery. She died November 08, 2019 in Park Hills, Missouri.

In Memory of Lester

Lester "Jimmy" Teets of Dexter, son of the late Lester LeRoy and Pearl Ann Arnett Teets, was born in Swinton, Missouri on January 17, 1930, passed away at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri on November 9, 2019, at the age of 89 years, 9 months and 23 days.

Jimmy had lived in the Dexter area most of his life. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bloomfield, and was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in combat during the Korean Conflict.

He was first married to Lois Brown on February 24, 1951, and to this union three children were born. She preceded him in death. On July 27, 2009, he was married to June Mallory Qualls Bowman in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Surviving are his wife, June Teets of Dexter; one son and wife, Brad & Sue Teets of Souix Falls, South Dakota; one daughter and husband, Kim & Rick Williams of Dexter; two stepsons, Dean Qualls of Destin, Florida; Carl Qualls of North Carolina; four grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many step great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; one half sister, Joan Griffaw of Cape Girardeau. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sheila Ann Teets in infancy; thirteen siblings and one stepson, David Qualls.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter until time of services at 1:00 p.m. with Gary Cooper officiating and Bill Palmer and Dean Gramlick assisting..

Interment will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors. Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
