Mary Beatrice Sweeney, daughter of the late William Otha Nunn and Gertie Irene Smith Nunn, was born on December 5, 1927 in Anniston, Missouri and departed this life on November 6, 2019 at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 91 years.

Mrs. Sweeney was a former housekeeper for Golden Living Center in Dexter.  She was a member of Sadler Chapel Methodist Church and a resident of Dexter.

In June of 1950, she was united in marriage to Nelson Sweeney.  Mr. Sweeney preceded her in death on January 12, 1981.

She is survived by two sons, Bill Sweeney and wife Melinda and Gary Sweeney, both of Dexter, Missouri; by her daughter, Linda Mahmoudi and husband Mehran of Dexter, Missouri; by her brother, Roy Nunn of Anniston, Missouri; by three sisters, Betty Lou Babcock and Beauton Prayor, both of Odessa, Texas and Ruth Reeves of Charleston, Missouri; by three grandchildren, Adam Sweeney and wife Britney, Andrew Sweeney and partner Audrey Woods, and Brooks Bledsoe; and by three great-grandchildren, Gwendolyn Sweeney, Arthur Sweeney and Killian Sweeney.

She was preceded in death by her son, Tom Sweeney; two brothers, Charles Nunn and James Nunn; by her sister, Loretta Tatum; and by her grandson, Gabriel Sweeney.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jayne Markin officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.
