In Memory of Michael James Kennedy

Michael James Kennedy, son of Shirley Kennedy of Dexter and the late Amos James Kennedy was born on February 27, 1954 in Van Buren, Missouri and departed this life on November 8, 2019 at his residence in Dexter at the age of 65.

Mike was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam era, and was stationed in Jacksonville, Arkansas.  He had worked as a project manager for Orbit Valve.  Most recently he had worked at Locust Street Florist, where he brightened everyone’s day, delivering flowers.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter and was also a member of the Dexter Eagle’s lodge where he volunteered doing their book work.

Besides his mother, Shirley, he is survived by two brothers, Terry Kennedy of Puxico, Missouri and Ben Kennedy of Bernie, Missouri; by two sisters, Patricia Sharp of St. Peters, Missouri and Melanie Shake of Matthews, Missouri and by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A graveside memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with Rev. Dennis Ward officiating.

In Memory of Barbara Ann Hill

Barbara Ann Hill daughter of the late James “Shorty” Moore and Grace Ann Moore was born in Weatherford, Texas on June 21, 1937 and departed this life at Unity Health Hospital in Searcy, Arkansas on November 7, 2019 at the age of 82.

Mrs. Hill was a homemaker and had worked at Arkansas Nursery.  She was of Baptist Faith and a resident of McCrae, Arkansas.

She was first united in marriage to Oven Ray Hill.  He preceded her in death in 1975.  She then was with Quitman Jack Brigman Jr., her common law husband of many years, he preceded her in death on September 27, 2014.

Other survivors include one son, Ricky Fuston of Walnut, Mississippi; by three daughters, Joann Garcia of Ripley, Mississippi, Beverly Ritcheson of Corpus Christi, Texas and Tina Bridges of Dexter, Missouri; by one sister, Maxine Jordan of Dallas, Texas; by Fifteen Grandchildren and Twenty Two Great-Grandchildren; also by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death other than by her parents and her two husbands, by three brothers, Frank, Charles and Junior; by two sisters, Juanita and Shirley.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M.   

Funeral services will then be conducted at 2:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie. 

Interment will follow in Smith-Stevenson Cemetery in Rural Dexter, Missouri.

In Memory of Clyde Richard Timberlake

Clyde Richard Timberlake, son of the late Cyrus Benjamin Timberlake and Annie Mary Walker Timberlake, was born in Stone County, Arkansas on July 8, 1933 and departed this life in Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on November 8, 2019 at the age of 86.

Mr. Timberlake was a Veteran of The United States Army.  He later worked as an Insurance Underwriter for Shelter Insurance Company.  He belonged to Bernie Masonic Lodge #573 and attended River of Life Church in Rural Dexter, Missouri and was a resident of Bernie.

He was united in marriage to Beulah Marie James in Bernie, Missouri on November 26, 2016.  Mrs. Timberlake survives her husband in their home in Bernie.

Other survivors include two step-sons, Danny James & Jayne of Dexter, Missouri, LeRoy James & Ange of Kansas City, Missouri; by three step-daughters, Beverly & Connie Dockins Lintz of Bernie, Missouri, Debbie Jones of Jefferson City, Missouri and Allison Williams & Wayne of Bernie, Missouri; by Several Grandchildren and Numerous Great-Grandchildren; also by other relatives and friends.

There are no services being planned at this time, In respect of Mr. Timberlake's wishes.

In Memory of Donald Hutchcraft

Donald Hutchcraft, was born on October 19, 1932 and departed this life on November 3, 2019 at Gideon Care Center in Gideon, Missouri at the age of 87 years.

Mr. Hutchcraft was a former employee of Purolator in Dexter, Missouri.  He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness and a resident of Dexter.

On December 11, 1970, in Washington, Illinois, he was united in marriage to Beunah Pippins.  Mrs. Hutchcraft preceded him in death on June 25, 2012.

He is survived by his step-daughter, Judy Passini of Mansfield, Texas; by his grandson, Robert Orrill of Mansfield, Texas; and by his close friends, Charles and Mary George.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, November 11, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. 

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. 

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.

In Memory of Edith Jerline Gregory

Edith Jerline Gregory, daughter of the late W. E. Vails and Virgie Mounce Vails, was born on August 2, 1929 in Risco, Missouri and departed this life on November 5, 2019 at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 90 years.

Mrs. Gregory was a former school bus driver for Dexter R-XI School District for 22 years.  She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Dexter, a housewife and a resident of Dexter.

On August 24, 1946 in Piggott, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Denver Gregory.  Mr. Gregory survives of their home in Dexter.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, Jerry Gregory and wife Marsha of Rockford, Illinois, Barry Gregory and wife Debra of Rockford, Illinois, Dennis Gregory of Bernie, Missouri and  Rick Gregory and wife Laurie of Atlanta, Georgia; by three brothers, Roy Vails of Dexter, Missouri, George Vails of Puxico, Missouri and Franklin Vails of Campbell, Missouri; by two sisters, Lola Thomas of Stuart Draft, Virginia and Nadine Donalson of Rockford, Illinois; by ten grandchildren and by thirteen great-grandchildren.    

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harley Vails and Charles Vails and by four sisters, Avamda Valentine, Eula Owens, Maxine Lester and Joyce Arnold.

Friends may call at the First Church of the Nazarene in Dexter on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Funeral services will then be conducted at the First Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Doug West officiating.  Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.
