In Memory of Steven Edward Morris

Steven Edward Morris, age 67 of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 29, 2019. Steve was born on September 17, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Orville and May(Schilinger) Morris.

He is survived by two brothers, Gary Morris of Poplar Bluff and Kevin Morris of Azel, Texas. Also surviving are six nieces, Tammy (Morris) Toomey, Jessica Morris, Devon Morris, Danielle Morris, Heather Morris and Lyndsi(Morris) Murphy, four nephews, Derek Morris, Kyle Morris, Mack Morris and Caleb Morris, ten great nieces and nine great nephews.

Steve was loved and called Dad by two boys, Charles Ellis of Poplar Bluff and Curtis Coleman of Puxico, and two girls, Misty Ellis of Wappapello and Stephanie Savat of Poplar Bluff. He was called Grandpa by 3 boys, Ethan Ellis, Gavin Ellis, Tristyn Savat and three girls LeAnne Ellis, Violet Coleman and Macey Savat.

Steve lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, camping, computer games, cookouts and time with family and friends.

Steve was a Vietnam vet and spent his life after the service helping others; First as an EMT, then as a paramedic, he then retired as a registered nurse.

Steve is being cremated with White-Sanders Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

A celebration of life will take place at the Silver Mines in Fredericktown, Missouri. Exact date and time are pending.

In Memory of Bobby Lee Earnest
Bobby Lee Earnest, son of the late John Earnest and Siller Stephens Earnest, was born on March 17, 1954 in Memphis, Tennessee and departed this life on April 3, 2019 at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 65 years.

Mr. Earnest was a veteran of the United States Army.  He was a retired route salesman for Frito Lay.  He was a member of the Church of Christ in Dexter, Missouri.  Nothing was more important to Bobby than his family and church family.  He always took care of them and was the hardest working man they knew.  He was respected by everyone he came in contact with, and loved by all.

On May 6, 1971 in Peach Orchard, Arkansas, he was united in marriage to Linda Catt.  Mrs. Earnest survives of their home in Dexter.  Their marriage lasted forty-seven years, built on faith, family and love.

In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by two sons, Randy Earnest and his wife Ginger of Jackson, Missouri and Wade Earnest and his wife Brandy of Dexter, Missouri; by one daughter, Sheila O’Shea of Matthews, Missouri; by two sisters, Betty Caldwell of Corning Arkansas and Gladys Hoag and her husband Alan, of Corning, Arkansas; by nine grandchildren, Gatan Earnest, Kyler Earnest, Jonathan Earnest, Connor Earnest, Kenadi Earnest, Ethan Spraggs, Mary Spraggs, Micaela O’Shea and Miah O’Shea.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Earnest.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. 

Funeral Services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter at 2:00 p.m. with Jeremy Tucker and Clyde Jacques officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.

In Memory of Genevie Gaines
Genevie Gaines, daughter of the late Clarence Robinson and Eunice Sneed Robinson Hume, was born on September 6, 1925 in Sikeston, Missouri and departed this life on April 2, 2019 at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 93 years.

Mrs. Gaines was an educator for 28 years.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Dexter.

On May 22, 1944 in Piggott Arkansas she was united in marriage to Carl Gaines.  Mr. Gaines preceded her in death on September 8, 1998.

She is survived by four daughters, Melinda Dixon of Dexter, Missouri, Elinor Gaines of St. Louis, Missouri, Nancy Bonnett of Durango, Colorado, Pam Runyan and her husband Jesse of Gurdon, Arkansas; by five grandchildren, Dr. Nancy (John) Langley, Cathy (Dr. Michael) Clippard, John (Lecia) Dixon, Jennifer Runyan, and Kelly (Donny) Benson; by eight great-grandchildren, Sarah Catherine Langley, Noah Joseph Langley, Anna Catherine Clippard, William Andrew Clippard, Eli Jacob Michael Dixon, Owen Lane Dixon, Sally Joann Benson, and Jeffrey Sebastian Benson.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Crane and Colleen Brown; and by one son-in-law, Clyde Dixon.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter on Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. 

Graveside services will then be conducted at the Dexter Cemetery on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 3:00 p.m.

In Memory of Teddy Lee Kearbey
Teddy Lee Kearbey, age 61, died March 31, 2019 at his home in Dexter, Missouri.

Born June 4, 1957 in Lodie, California, he is the son of the Walter Dudley Kearbey Sr. and Viola Lucille Kearbey.

Teddy was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Dexter and had been a self-employed auto body repairman before retiring.

He was married to Glenda Jean Kearbey; she preceded him in death June 21, 2018.

He is survived by one son, Michael David Williams of Dexter, Missouri; and three brothers, Thomas Kearbey of Sikeston, Billy Kearbey of Colorado, and Bobby Kearbey of Arizona.

There are no services scheduled at this time.

In Memory of Robert Wayne Elsworth
Robert Wayne Elsworth, son of the late Chalmer Ray Elsworth and Doris Jean Boone Elsworth Noble, was born in St. Charles, Illinois on January 26, 1961 and departed this life at his residence in Malden, Missouri on March 31, 2019 at the age of 58.

Mr. Elsworth was an over the road Truck Driver and a resident of Malden.

Survivors include, two brothers, Reggie Elsworth of Malden, Missouri and Kevin Elsworth of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; by two sisters, Pamela Smith of Gideon, Missouri and Regina Carmickle of Earlville, Illinois; also by other relatives and friends.

No services are being planned at this time.
