
William G. “Bill” Abbott, son of the late John M. “Jack”Abbott and Cecil Kester Abbott, was born on May 25, 1936 in Stillwell, Oklahoma and departed this life on January 5, 2016 at his residence in Dudley, Missouri at the age of 79.
Mr. Abbott was a member of the Dudley Community Church and had worked in construction as a backhoe operator
On July 28, 1956, he was united in marriage to Louise Jarrell in Maplewood, Missouri. Mrs. Abbott survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son Richard D. “Rick” Abbott and his wife Pauline of Waynesville, Illinois; by one daughter, Vicki Holmes and her husband Wayne of Carrollton, Georgia; by four brothers, Fay Abbott, J. D. Abbott, Luther Abbott and Roy Gene Abbott, all of Granite City, Illinois; by two sisters, Irene Williams of Piedmont, Missouri and Tess Abbott of Granite City, Illinois; by three grandchildren, Amy Abbott, Kristina Abbott and Josh Holmes; and by two great-grandchildren, Ryan Lashbrook and Karlee Holmes.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, January 8, 2015 from 1:30 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Lynn Ash officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dudley Cemetery.

Loyd Snider, son of the late Riley and Grace Bridges Snider, was born in Essex, Missouri on August 12, 1918, and passed away at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff on January 5, 2016, at the age of 97 years.
He lived in Bloomfield most of his life. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield where he had served as a deacon. He had participated in the Meals on Wheels program. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during WWII, and was a member of the Amvets.
He was first married to Louise Harris and she preceded him in death. He was then married to Daisy Miller and she preceded him in death.
Surviving are Shirley Furness of Newberg, Oregon; one step-daughter, Carol Walton of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; three sisters, Sue Barnfield and Freda Geiger both of Puxico, Missouri and Dorothy Johnson of Reno, Nevada. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one son, Richard Snider; one daughter, Beverley Patterson; two brothers, Floyd and Chester Snider and one sister, Eunice Wolpers.
Friends may visit on Thursday, January 7, 2016, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Funeral services will be on Friday, January 8, 2016, at 12:00 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Jerry Darby of Malden officiating.
Interment will follow at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.

Martha Frances Fowler, daughter of the late Herlie Griffin and Eva Farr Griffin Greiner, was born on August 5, 1934 in Kansas City, Missouri and departed this life on January 5, 2016 at her residence in Dexter at the age of 81.
Mrs. Fowler was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dexter and had worked as the office manager for Jay’s Music in Dexter. She was a past President of The Friends of the Library, a library volunteer in Dexter and a volunteer for Small Wonders at the First Baptist Church.
On December 20, 1952, she was united in marriage to Leon Fowler in Piggott, Arkansas. Mr. Fowler preceded her in death on March 19, 2011.
She is survived by one son, Doug Fowler and his wife Gail of St. Louis, Missouri; by one daughter, Janet Fowler of Dexter; and by one granddaughter, Brittany Axelson.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Garcia Lee Griffin; by one sister, Rebecca Griffin Lane; and by her step-father, Carl Greiner.

Doris Carroll, daughter of the late Clayton Haynes and Ethel Cotney Haynes was born on March 18, 1943 in Ashland, Alabama and departed this life on January 1, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield at the age of 72.
Mrs. Carroll was an Elementary teacher in Bernie for thirty years. She was a member of the Bernie Methodist Church and a resident of Dexter.
On August 11, 1962 she was united in marriage to Charles Carroll in Douglasville, Georgia. Mr. Carroll survives of their residence in Dexter.
Besides her husband she is survived by one son, Charles Christopher Carroll of DuQuoin, Illinois; by one daughter, Cynthia Ann Arnold of Poplar Bluff; by one sister, Betty Ponder of Silver Hill, Alabama; by two grandchildren, Christopher Dale Carroll and Della Carroll and by two great-grandchildren, Vanessa Carroll and Charles Joseph Carroll.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Haynes.
Friends may call at the Methodist Church in Bernie on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. until 5:30 P.M.
Funeral services will then be conducted on Tuesday at 5:30 P.M. in the Methodist Church with Rev. Susan Marner-Sides and Rev. David Fowler officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Ashland, Alabama.

Helen Bernice Payton, daughter of the late George Edward and Lavinia Elizabeth Porter Crest, was born in New Madrid, Missouri on February 5, 1937, and passed away at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau on December 31, 2015, at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 26 days.
Mrs. Payton had lived in St. Louis before moving to the Bloomfield & Dexter areas in 1971. She was retired from Arvin Automotive after 23 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield. She enjoyed gardening, decorating, flowers and reading.
She was first married to Carroll David Noland and he preceded her in death on July 4, 1971. On June 15, 1985 she married Bobby G. Payton near Bloomfield, Missouri.
Surviving are her husband, Bobby G. Payton of Dexter, Missouri; one daughter, Debra Carol Smith of Dexter; five grandchildren & spouses, Amanda & Billy Woodall of Wardell, Missouri, Kristin & Gary Jackson of Kennett, Missouri, Jarred & Heather Elsworth of Qulin, Missouri, Angela & Eddie Hartline and Kyle Smith all of Dexter, Missouri; ten great grandchildren; and two honorary daughters, Patricia Mordis and Ruby McCord both of DeSoto, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Diana Gail Elsworth and one brother, Donald Ray Crest.
