Martha Frances Fowler, daughter of the late Herlie Griffin and Eva Farr Griffin Greiner, was born on August 5, 1934 in Kansas City, Missouri and departed this life on January 5, 2016 at her residence in Dexter at the age of 81.
Mrs. Fowler was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dexter and had worked as the office manager for Jay’s Music in Dexter. She was a past President of The Friends of the Library, a library volunteer in Dexter and a volunteer for Small Wonders at the First Baptist Church.
On December 20, 1952, she was united in marriage to Leon Fowler in Piggott, Arkansas. Mr. Fowler preceded her in death on March 19, 2011.
She is survived by one son, Doug Fowler and his wife Gail of St. Louis, Missouri; by one daughter, Janet Fowler of Dexter; and by one granddaughter, Brittany Axelson.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Garcia Lee Griffin; by one sister, Rebecca Griffin Lane; and by her step-father, Carl Greiner.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Greg McGhee officiating.
