Dexter, Missouri - The Lady 'Cats hosted the Kennett Indians Monday evening and rallied to an impressive win.

We all know that the Lady ‘Cats can win a basketball game, but what most of us did not know was the incredible milestone that was about to happen during the game against Kennett.

Hannah Noe #10 entered the game just 12 points away from hitting her 1,000th career point!  What made the night even more special for Coach Chad Allen was that he didn’t just have Hannah about to make history, but Alison Jarrell #12 had a pretty good chance of also hitting her 1,000th career point as well.

Noe utilized her incredible ability to sink free throws to score her 1,000th point in the second quarter against Kennett.  The girls doubled screened to get Jarrell the ball as she sank a 3-pointer with just 6:50 remaining in the game to put her over the top.

“I am proud of them and the whole team.  We were a little rusty tonight, as it seems we have been off forever,” stated head Coach Chad Allen.  “It is an amazing accomplishment, especially on the same night to have two players score their 1,000th point.  Both of these girls have developed into great players and will be going on to the next level and playing college ball.”

Both Jarrell and Noe were the top scorers for the Dexter Bearcats.  Jarrell tallied a game-high 21 points hitting five 3-pointers.  Noe recorded 16 points including 1 trey.

Three other Lady ‘Cats finished in double figures.  Erika Cobb #15 a 5’9” senior scored 12 points.  Center Paige Patterson #22 also a senior tallied 11 points and Dakota Reynolds #1 a 5’5” sophomore tallied 10 points.

“All four of our seniors know each other real well.  They have been playing basketball with each other since the 3rd grade and have developed into a great team.  They look for each other and are completely unselfish.  The fact that the points are spread out shows you how unselfish they are.  Even Paige Patterson and Erika Cobb are starting to get closer to that 1,000th point.  It’s just awesome to have players like that.”

“Hanna has been a real work horse and the best point guard I have seen.  She is averaging about 18 points per game and college coaches are really starting to pick up the pace and look at her,” stated Allen.

“I have worked really hard to improve this year.  I work out with a trainer 3 times a week and I have recently lost 15 lbs,” stated senior Hannah Noe.  “I am a lot quicker.”  When asked about her future plans, “I an undecided on a college, but I want to major in nursing.”

Alison Jarrell’s interview will be on Thursday after the Neelyville game.  Congratulations to both of these girls on their incredible performance and hitting their 1,000th career point.

The Lady ‘Cats will be back in action on Thursday evening when they host Neelyville at the Bearcat Event Center.  Game time is 6:00 p.m.

“Neelyville will be a big test for us Thursday and Dyersburg will be an even bigger test for us this Saturday,” commented Allen. “It will get a little tougher as it goes along and hopefully we will get some of that rustiness wore off.”

The JV ‘Cats also played on Monday night; however they played just two quarters and ended the game with a tie 10 – 10.
