Marble Hill, Missouri – The Dexter Bearcats traveled to Marble Hill on Friday night to compete against the Woodland Cardinals. The Bearcats were on fire with their 3-pointers as they defeated the Cardinals 50 – 43.
Peyton Pollock scored for Dexter first with a beautiful 3-pointers in the first few seconds of the first quarter. Pollock then answered again with another trey and that started a run of 3-pointers throughout the evening.
Dexter was able to score 11 treys in all against the Cardinals. Austin Chesser finished with the game-high 21 points including 7 treys. Pollock added his two, D.J. Dowdy had a trey and so did Ethan Flowers. Cole Renken tallied 12 points for Dexter.
Woodland rallied to tie things up at the end of the first quarter, but the Bearcats were on a roll. They opened the second quarter with four straight 3-pointers and took the lead with just minutes left in the half.
Dexter improves their record to 2-0 in SCAA regular season play and will be back in action at Bloomfield on Tuesday, January 14th. Game time is 6:00 p.m.

The Dexter JV also defeated Woodland 60 – 52. “We played pretty good,” commented Coach Sean Guethle.
Tyler Womack tallied a team-high of 16 points including 4 three pointers for Woodland. Caleb Stewart recorded 14 points hitting 4 treys as well.
Jason Jarrell scored a team-high 20 points for the Bearcats before fouling out with just four minutes remaining in the game. Jacob Pedigo tallied 11 points and Addison Moore added 9 more. Austin Chesser hit two 3-pointers pulling double duty at the game for both the JV and Varsity teams. Alex Whitehead hit two treys along with Addison Moore who added one.
What really hurt the Cardinals was the third quarter. The Bearcats were able to hold them to just 3 points in the entire quarter while gaining farther ahead.
The JV ‘Cats will be back in action along with the varsity team on Tuesday, January 14th as they take on the Wildcats in Bloomfield.
