Conrad Alleman

Conrad W. Alleman, son of the late Thaddeus Alleman and Lillie Irene Hamilton-Alleman was born on October 17, 1917 in Middle Springs, PA, and passed away on July 29, 2011 at Crowley Ridge Care Center at the age of 93.

Conrad was united in marriage to Mary Lena Pippin on December 3, 1942, in St. Louis, MO. She preceded him in death on February 9, 1997. They began their life together in the St. Louis, MO area, and moved to Dexter in 1960.

Conrad co-owned Price Furniture and retired in 1988. He was a faithful Christian and member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, MO. He was a 65 year member of the Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Scottish Right since 1974. Conrad was a man of family, and dedicated his life to enjoying his time with children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. He was known to be a man of kindness and good humor.

Survivors include: a daughter, Constance “Connie” Parris and son-in-law Kenneth Parris, of Dexter, MO; a daughter, Colleen Nordhoff and son-in-law John Nordhoff, of The Colony, TX. Four grandchildren, Eric Parris and wife Tina of Dexter, MO; Jessica Parris of Dexter,MO; Johnna Nordhoff, and Janna Nordhoff of The Colony, TX. One great-grandchild, Erica Parris, of Dexter, MO. 3 brothers: Richard Alleman of Fayetteville, PA; Milton Alleman of Chambersburg, PA; Fredrick Alleman of Orrstown, PA. 4 sisters: Elizabeth Rebuck of Chambersburg, PA; Irene Byers of Fayetteville, PA; Anna Pugh of Chambersburg, PA; and Pauline Kline, of Fayetteville, PA.

Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford Alleman and Leon Alleman; and three sisters Laura Bailey, Virginia Hutchison, and Mae Enetch.

Conrad was also survived by many family and friends.

Special thanks extended to the staff of Crowley Ridge Care Center for their loving care, and to Preferred Hospice staff for their exceptional services to Conrad and his family.

Services will be held this Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, MO. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. At 2 p.m., Masonic Rites will be given by Masonic Temple Dexter Lodge #532, funeral to follow, with Rev. Jimmy Kirby officiating. Interment follows at Chalk Bluff Cemetary, in Dexter, MO.
