Bernie, Missouri - The Cooter Wildcats took charge on the Bernie baseball field on Tuesday afternoon. Cooter won 2 - 1 in 7 innings.
"We are young and we didn't play our best baseball today," commented new Bernie Baseball Coach Marcus Massey. "Left to many guys stranded at third."
Cooter scored one run in the first on a lead off walk, bunt, followed by a wild pitch. Then a throwing error by the catcher allowed the run to score.
The Mules added a run in the second on a lead-off single by Brown and a ball hit off the wall by Burk.

"If just once or twice you have a big two out hit the game is totally different story and we would feel a lot better about our selves," stated Massey. "But we did a lot of positives to give ourselves a chance to win and credit to them they are always a good team."
"Next time we just have to have a little better execution," continued Massey. "But it was the first game of the year for us so a lot of positive."
