Veda Imogene (Brown) (Sparks) McCollough daughter of the late William Brown and Agnes May Fancher Brown was born on December 30, 1926, in Morehouse, Missouri and departed this life on September 16, 2023, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston, Missouri at the age of 96.
Veda was a member of the New Bethel Church and was a resident of Dexter, Missouri. She had worked at Elders Manufacturing. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, she enjoyed crocheting and knitting, and enjoyed playing cards.
She was first united in marriage to George Roland Sparks, to this union, their daughter Karen was born. She was then united in marriage to Dale McCollough. Mr. McCollough preceded her in death on May 15, 1997.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Sparks) Hann and her husband Julian of Russellville, Arkansas; by her brother, Bob Brown of Seattle, Washington; by two sisters, Shirley Barnes of Sikeston, Missouri and Mary Sue Davis of Morehouse, Missouri; by four grandchildren, Tracy Hann of Sikeston, Missouri, Angie Whiting and husband Shane of Dover, Arkansas, Cory Hann and wife Erica of Cabot, Arkansas, and Jason Hann and wife Sarah of Russellville, Arkansas; by eight great-grandchildren, Thad Owens, Spencer Owens, Logan Akins, Abigail Hann, Ava Hann, Jacob Hann, Esther Hann, and Micah Hann; and by two great-great-grandchildren, Cameron Akins and Carter Akins.
Other than by her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnnie Brown and Billie Brown; by her sister, Wilma Huffman; and by two siblings in infancy, Eugene and Betty.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will then be conducted on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the Mathis Funeral Chapel with Pastor D. Roberts.
Interment will follow at the Dexter Cemetery.

Carl Earl Tudor of Bloomfield, Missouri, the son of the late Virgil Cecil Tudor and Charlotte Lillian Winson was born on May 3, 1954, in Sycamore, Illinois, and passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on September 14, 2023, at his home in Bloomfield, Missouri, at the age of 69 years, 4 months and 11 days.
Carl lived in Colorado, Illinois, until moving to Bloomfield, Missouri, four years ago. Carl proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was of a member of St. Joe General Baptist Church in Idalia, Missouri. Carl enjoyed doing woodwork, raising livestock, and talking to people. His true enjoyment was spending time with family and especially spoiling his grandchildren.
Carl married the love of his life Linda Jeschke on December 17, 1980 in Sycamore, Illinois.
Carl is survived by his wife of the home; three sons, Virgil Tudor of Greenville, Tennessee; Carl Tudor, Jr. of Shelbyville, Illinois; Tony (Sarah) Tudor of Decatur, Illinois; one daughter, April Tudor of Amboy, Illinois; twelve grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Curtis Tudor of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; five sisters, Diane Groce, Laura Williamson, Teresa Groce, Ava (Jessie) Walker, all of Indianapolis, Indiana; Virginia Simmons of Bloomfield, Missouri; a close personal friend, Matthew Nugent; as well as a host of family and friends.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Charles Bower.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Joe General Baptist Church in Idalia, Missouri, with Pastor Jonathan Rice officiating, with Watkins And Sons of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
Cyril Edward Marchant (Ed), son of the late Cyril Edward Marchant Sr. and Dorothy Mae Bell Marchant, was born on June 24, 1969, in Flint, Michigan and peacefully departed this life on September 13, 2023 at his sister’s residence in Bernie, Missouri, at the age of 54 years.
Mr. Marchant was a resident of Dexter, Missouri and attended Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter. He enjoyed singing karaoke and sang until his very last day. He was a car enthusiast, enjoyed Mopar muscle cars, Motorcycles, and fishing. His favorite title was being a pawpaw. He loved his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Marchant of Dexter, Missouri: by his Daughter Nikki Belcher and husband Joe of Dexter, Missouri: By four brothers, Jeff Marchant of Goshen, Indiana, Randy Randell of St. Helen, Michigan, Dave Holland of Grand Blanc, Michigan, and Patrick Holland of Lugoff, South Carolina; By four sisters, Emma Razer and Kathy Christian both of Bernie, Missouri, Andrea Kent of Flint, Michigan, and Christine Davies of Tawas City, Michigan; and by one granddaughter, Ryleigh Mae Belcher of Dexter, Missouri; and several special kids, Xavier, Athena, Caleb, Jacob, Kaily, and Maybree; and other
special family members, David and Debbie Holland of Tawas City, Michigan and Tammy Marchant of Dexter, Missouri; and other numerous family and friends; he has a blended and blessed family that will miss him dearly.
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Anna Goodboo.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 29,2023 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Bernie Community Center in Bernie, Missouri.

Jerry S. Garner, son of the late Lee Oral Garner and Bertha Marie Mims Garner, was born on December 21, 1945, in Borseley, Missouri, and departed this life on September 11, 2023, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas at the age of 77 years.
Mr. Garner was a Veterans of the United States Army and a 1963 graduate of Dexter High School in Dexter, Missouri. He was a former Illinois State Trooper and a former police office for the City of Dexter, Missouri. Also, he had worked in financial management. Jerry lived his life the way he wanted to. He enjoyed traveling and seeing the country, and he loved his family.
He is survived by his son, Jared (Maria) Garner of Eaton, Colorado; by two daughters, Robin (Steve) Foreman of Altus, Oklahoma, and Sheri (Larry) Bumgardner of Dawson, Illinois; by two brothers, Dale (Linda) Garner of Shannon, Mississippi, and Dennis (Linda) Garner of Flint, Michigan; by four grandchildren, Steven (Monique) Foreman of Harrah, Oklahoma, Richard (Becca) Foreman of Altus, Oklahoma, Austin Spainhour and Alex Spainhour both of Springfield Illinois; and by three great grandchildren, RJ Foreman, Trevor Foreman, and Zoe Trout.
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Oral Lee Garner and by his sister, Delores Garner.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at 1:00 p.m.
Interment will follow in the Browns Chapel Cemetery in Broseley, Missouri.

Claire Marie Dixon, daughter of the late William Hathorn and Kathleen Flynn Hathorn, was born on June 16, 1961, in Santa Clara, California, and departed this life on September 11, 2023, at her residence in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 62 years.
Mrs. Dixon was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, she was a devout Catholic. She enjoyed cooking, camping, fishing, gardening, decorating for every holiday and doing arts and crafts with her grandchildren. She loved taking care of her children and grandchildren.
In 1995, in Mountain View, California, she was united in marriage to Robert Dixon. Mr. Dixon survives of their home in Dexter.
Along with her husband, she is survived by two sons, Matthew Cash and Nolen Dixon both of Dexter, Missouri; by two daughters, Angie Cuevas of Dexter, Missouri and Bridget Dixon of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; by two brothers, Stephen Hathorn of Ft. Bragg, California and Joseph Hathorn of Foster City, California, by four sisters, Margaret Briggs of Sunnyvale, California, Mary of Rockland, California, Anne Vidovich of Sunnyvale, California, and Kathy Hathorn of Sunnyvale, California; and by seven grandchildren.
Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Hathorn and by her sister, Regina Hathorn.
A memorial service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
