Glady Louise Tarrants
Gladys Louise Tarrants - Born on August 17, 1917 in Gray Ridge, MO, Gladys was the seventh of eight children born to Newt and Fannie Brazzeal. On August 2, 2013 at the age of 95 years 11 months 20 days her final prayer was answered and she departed this life for her "Heavenly Home".

Gladys spent 85 years of her life in the Gray Ridge and Sikeston communities. In 2003 she moved to Clermont, Florida to be closer to her daughter, Diane. She was a retiree of the National Lock Company in Sikeston and a life long member of the Gray Ridge General Baptist Church.

On December 25, 1934, she was married to Sam Tarrants. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sam; her parents and 7 brothers and sisters. Surviving are her daughter, Diane and Son-In-Law, Bernie Bajardi of Clermont, FL; 4 grandchildren, Marie Bajardi, Cortlandt Manor, NY, Christine Presley and husband Christopher, O'Fallon, MO, Elizabeth Bajardi, Wentzville, MO and Barney Bajardi and wife Ryann, O'Fallon, MO and 5 great-grandchildren. Other nieces, nephews and friends survive to mourn her passing.

A Graveside Memorial Service and interment will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Rev. Sonny Floyd
Rev. Sonny Floyd, son of the late Clarence and Myrtle Marie Dean Floyd, was born in Tennessee on November 3, 1938, and passed away in Cape Girardeau on September 19, 2013, at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 14 days.

He had lived the past 10 years in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He had owned and operated Floyd & Sons Tree Service and was a member of the South Side Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

On October 13, 1957, he was married to Freda Reaves in Bernie. She preceded him in death on October 27, 1994.

Surviving are two sons, Harry "Duane" Floyd and Stephen Floyd both of Cape Girardeau; one daughter, Pam Campbell of Oran; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; three sisters, Eva Dixon of Belleville, Illinois, Judy Brown of Sullivan, Missouri and Evelyn Crump of Bloomfield. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one son, Danny Michael Floyd and one sister, Nadine Bates.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 19, 2013, from 6:00  to 8:00 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 20, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Gail Lambert of Dupo, Illinois officiating.

Interment will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Albert Lee Jones, son of the late Albert Truman and Dorothy Atichison Jones, was born in Ottowa, Kansas on July 19, 1942, and passed away at the Sells Nursing Home in Matthews, Missouri on September 16, 2013, at the age of 71 years, 1 month and 28 days.

He had lived in Yakama, Washington for 35 years where he worked in a paper mill. He moved to Dexter, Missouri six years ago and was of Pentecostal faith. He enjoyed fishing and dancing.

He was married to Carol Rogers and she preceded him in death.

Surviving are 3 brothers, Tommy Jones, Dale Jones and Ronnie Young all of Dexter; 3 sisters, Barbara Groves of Corning, Arkansas, Mary Wilkerson of Defunica, Florida, and Patsy Rogers of Lowndes, Missouri. Other family and friends also survive.

Visitation will be held on Thursday September 19, 2013 after 10:00 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 19 , 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with the Rev. Dale Jones Jr. of Oklahoma officiating.

Interment will follow in the Rogers Cemetery in Lowdnes, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.

Heather M. Morris, daughter of Joe “Rick” Morris and Sheila Glass Morris both of Bernie, Missouri was born on November 23, 1976 in Dexter, Missouri and passed away on Saturday September 14, 2013 at her parents residence in Bernie, Missouri at the age of 36 years.

Heather graduated from Bernie High School in 1995, received an associate’s degree from Three Rivers Community College, bachelor’s degree at Arkansas State University, and completed her law degree at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  She was affiliated with the First Assembly of God Church in Bernie, an employee of Family Counseling Center, and a resident of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Heather was very compassionate about children and her job. She always put others first by loving your neighbor as yourself and by showing the great love of Christ to all. 

Besides her parents, survivors include two brothers, Josh Morris of Bernie and Jason Morris of Wenatchee, Washington; parental grandmother, Ellen Morris of Thomasville, Missouri and maternal grandmother, Doris Glass of Bernie, Missouri.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday September 19, 2013. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday September 20, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Kent Kassinger officiating. 

Graveside services will be conducted on Friday September 20, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at the Huddleston Cemetery near Alton, Missouri. Interment will immediately follow.

Debbie Casey, daughter of the late Herschel Wilber Deal and Frances Louise Ashley Deal, was born in Sikeston, Missouri on September 3, 1952, and passed away at the Southeast Health Center of Stoddard County in Dexter, Missouri on September 16, 2013, at the age of 61 years and 13 days.

She had lived in Dexter most of her life and had worked as a cake decorator at Wal-Mart. She was a member of the Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, and loved to camp.

On May 20, 2002, she was married to Brian Casey in Essex, Missouri.

Surviving are her husband Brian Casey of Dexter; two sons, Tommy Riley and Jerry Riley both of Sikeston; three daughters, Trish Julian and Kathy Chapman both of Dexter, Brandy Finch of Modesto, California; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild and one on the way; one brother, Louis Hurt of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Patricia Scott of St. Louis, Missouri and Nancy Zickefoose of Des Moines, Iowa; her mother in law, Judy Casey of Dexter, and an aunt, Katherine Wethington of Sikeston. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lynn Hurt and Richard Gatlin.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter, Missouri

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 19, 2013, at the Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter, Missouri with Rev. Tim Russell of Dexter, Missouri officiating.

Interment will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
