Shirley M. Carwile, daughter of the late Thomas McGowen and Bertha Jackson McGowen was born on December 2, 1937 in Bernie, Missouri and departed this life on April 11, 2013 at her residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 75 years.
Mrs. Carwile was a homemaker and a resident of Dexter, Missouri for many years.
On August 28, 1951 she was united in marriage to Leonard Dean Carwile in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Mr. Carwile preceded her in death on January 12, 2011.
Survivors include three sons, Stephen Carwile and wife Nancy of Blacklick, Ohio, Tim Carwile of Batavia, Illinois, James Carwile and companion Lisa Lucas of Cortland, Illinois; one brother, Carol McGowen of Tennessee; by two sisters, Thelma Brown of Dexter and Verla Lawrence of Salam, Illinois; also by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Carwile; by four brothers, Ralph McGowen, Lawrence McGowen, Charles McGowen, and Thomas McGowen.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 13, 2013 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
Dimple Miller, daughter of the late John Ernest Zimmerman and Nora Ethel McGowan Zimmerman was born in Bernie, Missouri on December 31, 1918 and departed this life in Golden Living Center in Malden, Missouri on April 11, 2013 at the age of 94.
Mrs. Miller's last employment was IGA Grocery Store in Dexter, Missouri, she was a homemaker, a lifelong member of the Bernie Church of Christ and a resident of Bernie.
She was united in marriage to Lester Rhyn Miller in Piggott, Arkansas on May 31, 1941. Mr. Miller preceded his wife in death on October 13, 2004.
Survivors include, Ronald L. Miller and wife Gaye, and family, Casey Miller & Layne; Robin and Peter Edmiston & Brittain; and Matthew Miller; Jerry N. Miller and his family, David Miller, Cara and Nick Dillinger, Nate & Alexa; Nancy Green, her husband William, and their family, Jason and Kim Becking, Adelaide, Jack & Brandon; Janet and Thedi Ramp, Jakob & Caleb; and Mitch and Anita Green, Ashli & Eric Ferguson; by three brothers, Lloyd Zimmerman, Melvin Zimmerman and Harold Zimmerman all of the Bernie Area; by one sister, Geraldine Blackman Sturges of Campbell, Missouri. Also by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death other than by her parents and her husband, by one infant son; by two brothers, Hershel Zimmerman and Howard Zimmerman; by two sisters, Pearl Mickey and Marjorie Zimmerman.

Desmond E. Becker, son of the late Henry Becker and Agnes Braswell Becker, was born on February 10, 1932 in London, Arkansas, and departed this life on April 9, 2013, in his residence near Sikeston, Missouri, at the age of 81 years.
Mr. Becker was a member of the First General Baptist Church of Morehouse. He had been employed as a salesman for Malone & Hyde Grocery in Sikeston and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He was very active in the Sikeston and Dexter Babe Ruth Baseball programs. He was the coach of two Sikeston Babe Ruth teams that went to the Babe Ruth World Series. His 1959 Sikeston Babe Ruth All-Star team placed second at the Babe Ruth World Series. He was a member of the Southeast Missouri Baseball Hall Of Fame. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing.
On February 12, 1955, he was united in marriage to Glenda Garner Becker in Hernando, Mississippi. Mrs. Becker survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Mark Becker, and his wife, Cathy, and Brian Becker and his wife, Laura, all of Dexter, Missouri; one daughter, Christy Mathis and her husband, Don, of Crossville, Tennessee; by seven grandchildren, Chelsea McMunn and her husband, Cory, Alex Becker, Nathan Lake, Luke Becker, Lilly Warrick, Christian Stallings and Josey Roper; and by one great-grandchild, Carly Jane McMunn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Mickey Becker; by one brother, Dalton V. Becker; and by one sister, Lamona Backus.

Ellen Rowena Sattler, daughter of the late Thelma Britton, was born on March 25, 1955, in Gray Ridge, Missouri, and departed this life in her residence at Dexter on April 8, 2013, at the age of 58 years.
Mrs. Sattler was a member of the Light House Christian Church in Dexter and was a volunteer at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was on the Southeast Missouri Hospital Auxiliary Board, a member of the Southeast Missouri Hospital Foundation Association and the Southeast Missouri Hospital Auxiliary.
She was united in marriage to Scott Sattler in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Mr. Sattler survives of the home.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, David Vaughn and Brian Wells, both of Dexter, Missouri; by one daughter, Tammy Overbey and her husband, Roger, of Bell City, Missouri; by her stepfather, Jesse Jr. Britton of Dudley, Missouri; by one brother, Donald Britton of Dexter, Missouri; by two sisters, Betty Sue Patterson and Barbara Ann Wells, both of Dudley, Missouri; by five grandchildren, Jessica Underwood, Jacob Overbey, Josh Overbey, Aaron Wells and Susie Wells; and by one great-grandchild, Alexis Underwood.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Maxine Moses and Virginia Lee Jaynes.

Earshel Akridge, son of the late Hershel Akridge and Katherine Tanner Akridge was born on December 5, 1945 at Gideon and departed this life in his residence near Parma on April 8, 2013 at the age of 67.
Mr. Akridge was a former farmer and mechanic. He was a resident of rural Parma.
He was united in marriage to Thelma Jean Edwards on June 29, 1969 at Dexter. Mrs. Akridge preceded him in death on January 16, 1992.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Tracy and Michelle Akridge of Parma: by one daughter, Tonya Akridge of Parma: by three grandchildren, Tristen Akridge, Landon Akridge and Jaxon Akridge: by three brothers, Freddie Akridge of Parma, John Akridge of Memphis, Tennessee and Ricky Akridge of Howenwald, Tennessee: by seven sisters, Geraldine Koidan of Oroville, California, Lola Barks of Dexter, Betty Lawson of Fordland, Linda Parker of Independence, Joyce Haddock of Waynesboro, Tennessee, Sherry Decker of New Madrid and Kathy Schaffer of Knoxville, Tennessee.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Kenny Akridge: by two sisters, Stella Simmons and Joan Akridge.
