
Shirley M. Carwile, daughter of the late Thomas McGowen and Bertha Jackson McGowen was born on December 2, 1937 in Bernie, Missouri and departed this life on April 11, 2013 at her residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 75 years.
Mrs. Carwile was a homemaker and a resident of Dexter, Missouri for many years.
On August 28, 1951 she was united in marriage to Leonard Dean Carwile in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Mr. Carwile preceded her in death on January 12, 2011.
Survivors include three sons, Stephen Carwile and wife Nancy of Blacklick, Ohio, Tim Carwile of Batavia, Illinois, James Carwile and companion Lisa Lucas of Cortland, Illinois; one brother, Carol McGowen of Tennessee; by two sisters, Thelma Brown of Dexter and Verla Lawrence of Salam, Illinois; also by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Carwile; by four brothers, Ralph McGowen, Lawrence McGowen, Charles McGowen, and Thomas McGowen.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 13, 2013.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 13, 2013 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
