Nancy Jane Stevens
Nancy Stevens, daughter of the late Lee Walters and Eloise Smith Walters was born on July 28, 1941 in Dexter, Missouri and departed this life on November 24, 2012 at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter at the age of 71 years.

Ms. Stevens was a former employee with the Tennessee Department of Transportation and a resident of Dexter.

Survivors include two sons, Nick Stevens and Nathan Stevens both of Dexter; and by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Lee Walters.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter will be conducting all arrangements with no services at this time.

Lola Mae McCollough

Lola Mae McCollough, daughter of the late Charlie and Emma Osa Weaver Corlew, was born near Bloomfield, Missouri on December 29, 1930, and passed away at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Missouri on November 29, 2012, at the age of 81.

She had lived in the Essex and Dexter areas all her life. She was a member of the Rivers of Life Church near Dexter.

On June 11, 1950, she was married to John R. McCollough in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2005.

Surviving are one son, Charles McCollough of Phoenix, Arizona; one daughter, Connie Pruitt of Dexter, Missouri; four grandchildren & spouses, Christy & Danny Sindle of Dexter, Missouri, Melody & Joe Patrick of Bloomfield, Missouri, Joe McCollough and Jessica McCollough both of Phoenix, Arizona; three great grandchildren, Hanna & Brock Patrick both of Bloomfield, Missouri, Lauren Sindle of Dexter, Missouri. Other family and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one brother, William Joe "Dub" Corlew.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012, after 1:00 p.m. at the Rivers of Life Church near Dexter, Missouri.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at the Rivers of Life Church near Dexter with the Rev. Bill Pennington of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating.

Vallie Walls
Vallie Walls, son of the late Edward and Nettie Mae Riley Walls, was born in Malden, Missouri on November 19, 1921, and passed away at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on November 27, 2012, at the age of 91 years and 7 days.

Vallie grew up in the Parma area and moved to Pontiac Michigan until 1978 when he retired from Pontiac Motors and moved back to Bernie, Missouri.  He had worked in maintenance repairing machines.  He was a member of the  First Presbyterian Church of Dexter.  He was a member of the Elks for several years, a past member of the Dexter Eagles, and a member of the UAW.

On March 15, 1941, he was married to Lois Gilbow, she preceded him in death on March 4, 2000.  On February 14, 2001 he was married to Mary Sue Robinson in Piggott, Arkansas.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Sue Walls of Bernie; two sons, Jerry Walls of Dexter, Gary Walls of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and Tom Robinson of Bernie, Missouri; one daughter, Doris Turner of Bernie, Missouri; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and one brother, Hubert Walls of Florida.  Other family and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012, after 11:00 a.m. at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Tom Bass of Cape Girardeau, Missouri officiating.

Interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Wanda Martin
Wanda Martin, daughter of the late Arthur Wilson and Verna Gibbs Wilson, was born on September 12, 1942, in Dexter, Missouri, and died peacefully on November 28, 2012, at her residence in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 70.

 

Mrs. Martin was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and daughter.  On June 1, 1962, she was united in marriage to Gary L. Martin at the Assembly of God Church in Essex, Missouri.  She was a member of Sadlers Chapel UMC in Dexter and worked as a beautician, bookkeeper and phlebotomist throughout her career in the area.

 

Survivors include her husband, Gary; daughters, Andrea, Kendra and Eleshia; grandsons, Allan and Gavin; sons-in-law, Scott Terrill and Mike Cramblitt; sister, Anna Lois and Floyd Malone of Phoenix, Arizona; brothers, Robert and LaVonne Wilson of Dixon, Missouri; Edward Wilson of Wren, Georgia, Loren and Gloria Wilson of Essex, Missouri; and sister-in-law, Joyce Wilson Lacey, of Dexter, Missouri; in addition to many nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cheryl Martin Boyd; granddaughter, Ariel Boyd; sister, Catherine Rodgers; brother, Nelson Wilson; and nephew, Ben Kruse.

 

Visitation will be held Friday, November 30th, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., at Sadlers Chapel UMC in Dexter.  Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 1st, at 11:00 A.M., at Sadlers Chapel UMC with Rev. Tony Phillips officiating.  Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements will be conducted by the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mrs. Martin’s memory to 18 Fore Life, 705 Laurie Circle, Dexter, Missouri  63841 or to Eleshia Martin’s college fund.
