Bloomfield, Missouri - The annual Stoddard County Athletic Association (SCAA) Boys Basketball Tournament is underway at Bloomfield High School. The Junior Varsity match-up between the #4 seeded Woodland Cardinals and the #5 seeded Puxico Indians started the tournament. Woodland came out on top 40 - 27 eliminating the Indians on Monday, January 21, 2019.
Woodland outscored Puxico in three of the four periods. The first quarter was low scoring with Puxico only hitting one from the charity stripe. By half-time Woodland led 17 - 8. Puxico managed to outscore Woodland by 2 in the fourth, but it was not enough to overcome a 13 point gap.
Rafe Johnson tallied a team-high 14 points for the Cardinals on six buckets and was 2/4 at the charity stripe.
Puxico's Dalton Andrews earned a game-high 15 points. He finished with 7 two-pointers and one free throw.

Dexter JV earned the #1 seed; #2 Bernie, #3 Bloomfield, #4 Woodland, and #5 Puxico. Dexter, Bernie and Bloomfield all received a bye for the quarterfinal games.
#4 Woodland will play #5 Puxico at 5:00 p.m. on January 21st.
Dexter will play the winner of the Woodland vs Puxico game on January 24th at 4 p.m.
#2 Bernie JV will play #3 Bloomfield at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th.
Third place game will be on January 25th at 4 p.m. with the Championship game at 7 p.m.
Richland, Bell City, and Advance will not have junior varsity teams to participate.

Bloomfield, Missouri - The #2 ranked Bernie Mules came out on top against the Kennett Indians 52-47 in a quarterfinal game at the Bloomfield Christmas Tournament on Thursday, December 27, 2018.
At the end of the first quarter Bernie led Kennett 12-7, by halftime they increased their lead to 25-15 and by the beginning of the fourth quarter had a nice lead of 41 - 30.
Weston Zoll recorded a game-high 14 points for Bernie. He also had two 3-pointers.
Kennett had three players in double digits. Quayv'aun Harrell tallied 13, La'Quez Pulliam had 10 and Jackson Henfling added 13.
Kennett will play Dexter in a semifinal match-up for 5th place at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018.
Bernie will play Twin Rivers at 8:30 p.m. on Friday evening.

Bloomfield, Missouri - The #5 seeded East Prairie Eagles outlasted the #4 Doniphan Dons 56-53 in an upset quarter final show-down on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Bloomfield Christmas Tournament.
Brian Merryman tallied a game-high 29 points for the Eagles including three 3-pointers. Derez Tipler finished with 14 points including two treys.
Wyatt Marler had a team-high 23 points while Tren Lippoldt recorded 20 points. Marler also had one trey.
East Prairie will play Hayti at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018. Doniphan will play Van Buren in a semifinal match-up for 5th place at 4 p.m. Friday.
