
Bloomfield, MO - The Bloomfield School Board of Education met in a regularly scheduled meeting on August 9th. Below are the minutes submitted by Toni Hill, Superintendent.
The board held the tax rate hearing and the regular August board meeting last night. The board approved a $3.36 tax rate levy for the year. This is consistent with previous years.
During the regular session, the board approved:
1. the special education compliance plan
2. the conflict of interest policy BBFA
3. the full maintenance service agreement with MSBA
4. the Hazel Health MOU and data services plan
5. the detailed engineering study of the ag shop addition
During the regular session, the board also discussed the 2021-22 school year and were updated on summer projects.
During the executive session, the board:
1. approved the substitute list
2. hired Lesley Eby as part time high school art teacher for the 2021-22 school year
3. hired Grady Leimbach as Junior High baseball coach

McKenzie Bowen and Will Thorn of Bloomfield will receive the State FFA Degree, the highest degree members can receive at state level.
The Bloomfield FFA members are two of 858 degree recipients receiving the honor during the State FFA Degree Ceremony at the 93rd Missouri FFA Convention, April 30 – May 1, on the Missouri State Fairgrounds, Sedalia.
Awarding of the degree is based on a member’s supervised agricultural experience program in agribusiness or production agriculture and leadership ability as demonstrated through involvement in FFA, school and community activities. The State FFA Degree award charms are sponsored by MFA Inc., Columbia.
“The State FFA Degree is the highest recognition a state can award, representing a select group of members, who have achieved a high-level of success,” said State FFA Advisor Leon Busdieker. “On the national level, Missouri has the largest number of American FFA Degree recipients of any state. In October 2020, 505 Missouri FFA members received the American FFA Degree.”
Show-Me More is the theme for this year’s Missouri FFA Convention.
The Missouri FFA has 25,662 members representing 351 chapters. The national organization has more than 760,000 members representing 8,739 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

Bloomfield, MO - The Bloomfield School Board met in a regular board meeting on Monday, April 12th. The board also held a work session prior to the regular board meeting to discuss short and long term planning.
During the open session of the regular board meeting, the board approved salaries for the 2021-2022 school year. The board approved certified staff step increases and $1000 was added to the certified salary schedule; non-certified staff step increase and 3% increase to the non certified salary schedule with the exception of the custodial column which received an $0.85 increase to be in compliance with the minimum wage increase; and placed district counselors on an index of 1.25
The board also approved proceeding with the HVAC replacement plan for the HS gym and band room.
During the closed session, the board approved the following:
