Don Varble Daniel, son of the late Dallas Daniel and Willena Sielert Daniel, was born December 22, 1940, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and departed this life on February 19, 2023, at Winchester Nursing Center in Bernie, Missouri, at the age of 82 years.
Mr. Daniel was a Veteran of the Missouri National Guard, retiring as a Master Sergeant. In 1967, he began working for Missouri Utilities, then Union Electric, and finally Ameren UE before retiring in 2003 as a trouble man and journey lineman. He was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Dexter, Missouri and a resident of Essex, Missouri. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
On June 6, 1964, in Essex, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Donna Kay Baker. Mrs. Daniel survives of their home in Essex.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter-in-law, Laura Daniel of Dexter, Missouri; by four grandchildren, Clayton Daniel and wife Brooke, Colton Summers, Chelsie Eaton and husband Ben, and Breanna Shelton; by six great-grandchildren, Dayton Daniel, Averie Daniel, Alesia Bailey and husband Ridley, Carter Eaton, Lily Eaton, and Paisley Stinson; and by his great-great grandson, Raymond Bailey.
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ross Daniel; by his daughter, Latricia Summers; and by his brother, L J Daniel.
Graveside services will be held at Old Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dwight Hensley officiating.

Clara Sharon Lawson, daughter of the late Ardis Eakin and Gussie Freeman Eakin, was born on December 14, 1946, in Bell City, Missouri, and departed this life on February 16, 2023, at her residence in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 76 years.
Mrs. Lawson was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and making candles. She loved her cats and dogs.
On July 18, 1987, in Dexter, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Rick Lawson. Mr. Lawson survives of their home in Dexter.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Jeff Davis and wife Alana of Dexter, Missouri and Rick Lawson Jr. of New Hamburg, Missouri; by two daughters, Ginger Pixley of Dexter Missouri, and Yvette Karg and husband Kevin of Sterling, Colorado; by her brother, Mike Eakin of Bell City, Missouri; by three sister, Viva Pope of Oran, Missouri, Pat Eakin of Bell City, Missouri, and Donna Stephens of Bell City, Missouri; by fourteen grandchildren, Baylie Grubbs, LeAnna Parks, Brianna Wright, Bryson McRoy, Cory Diebold, Colby Diebold, Dakota Lawson, Mark Lawson, Jordan Karg, Karah Quint, Delaney Karg, Khloe Karg, Keenan Pixley, and Autumn Pixley; and by seven great-grandchildren, Daisee Grubbs, Annalise Bennett, Elijah Parks, Ava Wright, Carter Jackson, Gray Robinson, and Ryla Robinson.
Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, David Eakin and Gaylon Eakin; by her son-in-law, Dale Ray Pixley; by her grandson, Josh Lawson, and by her great-granddaughter, Millie Grubbs.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, February 20, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, February 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Quintin Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery in rural Bloomfield.

Ross Eric Daniel, son of Don Daniel and Donna Baker Daniel of Essex, Missouri, was born on May 29, 1967, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and departed this life on February 11, 2023, at Southeast Health of Stoddard County in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 55 years.
Mr. Daniel was a shop manager for Tuley Farm and Home in Dexter, Missouri and he took care of Essex Cemetery. He was a former police officer for the Dexter Police Department, and while working for Dexter he helped design their badge. At the age of 16 he was a dispatcher for the Stoddard County Sheriff’s department and at that time he was the youngest person to have those qualifications in the State of Missouri. He was also a former employee of JP Ross Cotton Company. He was a member of the Assembly Church in Bloomfield, Missouri and the Palace of Praise in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and a resident of Dexter, Missouri.
On June 13, 2014, in Essex, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Laura Bucy. Mrs. Daniel survives of their home in Dexter.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his son, Clayton Daniel and wife Brooke of Essex, Missouri; by his daughter, Chelsie Eaton and husband Ben of Essex, Missouri; and by their mother, Kathy Lemmons Daniel of Dexter, Missouri; and by two sons, Jared Morgan and his fiancé, Lauren Schlotman of Burbank, California, and Ethan Morgan and wife Rachel of Hendersonville, North Carolina; by his daughter, Erica Hernandez and husband Peter of Yuma, Arizona; by eight grandchildren, Dayton Daniel, Averie Daniel, Alesia Bailey and husband Ridley, Carter Eaton, Lily Eaton, Kadie Morgan, Elijah Morgan, and Addelynn Morgan; and by his great-grandson, Raymond Bailey.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Latricia Ann Summers.
Graveside services will be conducted at the Old Essex Cemetery on Friday, February 17, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Kent Miller and Rev. Dwight Hensley officiating.

Oliver Lee McMeans, Sr., age 81, of Qulin, MO, died Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, in Poplar Bluff, MO.
Mr. McMeans was born August 22, 1941 in Caruthersville, MO, son of the late Oliver and Freda McMeans.
He was a 50 year member of the Four Mile Masonic Lodge # 212.
He was a farmer and worked for several years at Rowe furniture. He enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
On June 3, 1961, he married Carolyn Young. She survives. He is also survived by one daughter: Elaine Fisk & husband Richard of Sebring, FL,; two sons: Gregory McMeans & wife Connie of Poplar Bluff, and Oliver McMeans, Jr. & wife Jennifer of Puxico; five grandchildren: Tyler & Ashley McMeans, Samantha and Tyler Woolard, Dakotah and Timothy Hancock, Madison McMeans and Jacob McMeans; four great grandchildren: Presley, Stella, Sawyer, and Beckham.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother: Alfred McMeans and one granddaughter: Tiffany Fisk.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at White Sanders Funeral Home in Qulin.
Masonic services will be at 2:00 PM with the funeral service to immediately follow with Rev. Randy Wiseman and Bro. Calvin Ham Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Qulin Cemetery at Qulin.
Maudie Adele (House) Benton, 90 of Bloomfield passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at her winter home in Ft. Meyers Florida.
The daughter of Georgia “Annie” Beaton and David House, she was born November 15, 1932 near Como
Missouri, the twelfth child born to Annie and David House.
Maudie worked from a very young age in a Malden grocery store. She met her future husband, who attended Risco schools, at their church in Malden. They were married December 4,1950 in Piggott Arkansas.
As the wife of a farmer, Maudie learned to milk a cow, drive a tractor and grain trucks while caring for a house, garden and children, helping on the farm during planting, cultivating and harvest seasons and occasionally helping out at a grocery store during the winter for the grocers for whom she worked as a youngster.
She retired from Federal Mogul as a Quality Control Inspector after more than 20 years of service. Her keen eye for details had customers requesting her as final inspector for their aircraft pistons. An almost photographic eye for color and her skills sewing enabled her to create stylish and unique clothing for her daughters culminating in a beautiful and unique bridal gown and veil for each daughter that was inspired by gowns in bridal magazines of the times. Their gowns and veils could have been mistaken for gowns in the magazines.
Maudie always put her children before herself and they knew they could always count on her, although that also meant she still expected them to behave and do their chores.
In addition to her husband of 72 years, Huel Benton Jr., Maudie is survived by three children, Adelia “Jeanne” Barham of Bloomfield, Beverly “Kay” (Ralph) Ziegler of Cape Girardeau, and Huel Benton III of Surprise, Arizona.
Five grandchildren also survive, James “Jamie” (Jenny) Machen of Providence, Kentucky, Kristal Benton, Tiffany Benton and Brittany Benton of Phoenix Arizona and Patrick (Lisa) Barham of Bedford. Ohio.
Also surviving are great grandchildren Gage Machen, Jenna Machen and Corban Machen of Kentucky, Noah Benton and Ava Benton of Arizona, Gabrielle “Gabby” Barham of Springfield, and Jayden Barham of Ohio.
Besides her parents, Maudie was preceded in death by eleven siblings, Clara Ethel House, Ruth Marie House and Esther Nadine House, all three passing in infancy, Mary Loughary, Hannah Baker, Eugene “Gene” House, Minnie Baker McGuire, Sidney House, Lucille McElrath, Elton House, Thomas House, and by two great grandsons.
Visitation will begin at 12 noon on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden, Missouri, services will begin at 1 p.m., with Reverend James Hamlett officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden, Missouri.
Landess Funeral Home and Crematory of Malden will be in charge of the arrangements.
