
Puxico, MO - The Puxico Auxiliary to VFW Post 7822 will sponsor the Miss Puxico contest on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. in the Puxico Veterans Park during the 75th Puxico VFW Homecoming.
The contest is open to all girls age 16 to seniors at Puxico High School. All contestants must be 16 years old before August 1, 2022. Contestants must be registered for classes at Puxico R-8 School for the 2022 fall term at the time of registration. The parents/legal guardians of all contestants and the contestants must be residents of the Puxico R-8 School District for at least three months prior to the registration deadline. Contestants that DO NOT live in the Puxico School District but HAVE ATTENDED Puxico Schools the year prior are allowed to enter the contest.
Students that have received an alternate form of education in their junior year or plan to receive an alternate form of education in their senior year must live in the Puxico School District THREE months prior to the registration deadline, show proof of residency and proof of their alternate form of education (examples include private school/homeschool certificate, report card on private school letterhead, sample of homeschool curriculum, etc.).
Contestants must never have been married and shall not be a parent or presently pregnant.
Registration will be held on:
• Tuesday, July 12 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. & 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
• Thursday, July 14 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. & 3:00-6:00 p.m.
• Tuesday, July 19 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. & 3:00-6:00 p.m.
• Tuesday, July 26 from 12:00-3:00 p.m. & 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
All registrations will be held in the Puxico VFW Hall. Parents/legal guardians must accompany the contestants to registration. No registration forms will be allowed to leave the registration site for signatures. When registering for the contests, birth certificates, or proof of birth from a hospital must be presented. NO late registrations will be allowed. Registration fee is $10.
Records at Puxico R-8 Schools will be checked by the members of the Auxiliary to Puxico VFW Post #7822. Miss Puxico will receive a $100 cash prize & her entry fee for the Miss Stoddard County contest will also be paid by the Puxico VFW Post 7822, along with the trophy and crown. Dress Code for Miss Puxico Contest
The auxiliary wishes to keep the contests a family centered event by setting a dress code. The dress code is:
• NO plunging necklines.
• NO backless dresses that are cut below the waistline.
• NO bare midriff.
• NO visible tattoos will be allowed.
• Slits in the dresses must stop at the mid-thigh area.
Should a contestant fail to meet these standards, such contestant will be disqualified from competing.

Bloomfield Farmers Market will be held each Tuesday from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. June 7th - August 23rd at the Elderland Restaurant Parking Lot on Highway 25.
Accepting baked goods, flowers, plants, cookies, vegetables, jams and jellies, handmade craft items, fruits, eggs, herbs, small livestock such as chickens, ducks, rabbits and much more.

The Dexter Tree Board will be selling trees Saturday, May 21st from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. Weather permitting.
They will be selling in the parking lot of First Midwest Bank, corner of One Mile Road and 819 West Business Highway 60 in Dexter!
Some of the trees available for sale are red maple, crepe myrtle, red apricot, redbud, black olive, tulip poplar, and oak. Come check them out!!!

Dexter, MO - Mother-to-Mother Program in Dexter will be celebrating its 20th anniversary with a drop-in reception on Thursday, May 5, 2022.
The reception will be held at the Regional Healthcare Foundation building from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
The Regional Healthcare Foundation building is located at 215 W. Grant in Dexter.
Current and former participants, mentors and employees are encouraged to attend.
