Spring Veterans Fishing Day Held at Bloomfield

Bloomfield, MO - Around 60 southeast Missouri veterans took part in the annual Spring Veterans Fishing Day held at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield on Friday, May 20, 2022.

This event hasn't been held the last two years due to Covid-19, but Tony Curran, commander of the American Legion Post #59 in Dexter and organizer of the event, made sure it returned this year.  They will also host one in the fall.

After a few hours of fishing, each veteran and volunteer were treated to a fish fry with all the trimming, including fries, hushpuppies, pickles, onions, and of course dessert.
