Regular Board Meeting Notes
March 7, 2025

8:00 AM-Special Board Meeting


1,2,3. Call to Order/Roll Call/Pledge:  

The Board President announced the meeting is to begin, ascertains the attendance status of all board members, with Mr. Worley being absent and Mr. Glaus attending by Facetime.  The Board President leads in the saying of the Pledge of Allegiance. 


4.  Old Business:  

A.     There was no old business.  


5.  New Business: 

A.  There was no new business.  


6.  Discussion Items: The following items were discussed with the board:

A There were no discussion items.      


In Closed Session:  

1.  The board approved the following resignations, retirements, and/or recensions:

Megan Miller-Assistant Principal at Central Elementary, effective at the

conclusion of the 24-25 school year.  

Kathryn Ashley-Bus Driver and Paraprofessional, effective dates are 

2/27/25 and 3/4/2025.  

Alex Brotz-Middle School Cheer Coach, effective at the conclusion of the 24-25

school year.  

Rob Scott-5th Grade Teacher, effective conclusion of the 24-25 school year.

2.  The board approved the hiring of the following individuals for the 2025-2026 school year, 

pending a favorable background check and appropriate certification:

Justin Peden-MS Head Football Coach.

Natalie Gargas-MS Assistant Volleyball Coach.

Amanda Galloway–MS Special Services Teacher.  

Rebekah Holt-ECSE Teacher.  

Jessica Marston-MS ELA Teacher.  


3.  The following items were discussed with the board:

*Health Insurance.

*School will not be in session on April 2, 2025 (Song Makers Performance and HS 

baseball both at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.  An announcement will be made to the 

District on Monday via the website, Facebook, and Thrillshare.  

Items at the Conclusion of Executive Session

Each speaker is limited to 5 minutes. A maximum of 15 minutes is allowed for this public comment section. Please, just one spokesperson per group; individuals may speak only once per meeting; time regulated by the Board Chairman. Note: Individuals wishing to convey a complaint about procedures, regulations, or personnel will not be scheduled to address the Board until the District’s complaint procedure has been exhausted; Complaints directed at specific personnel will not be heard in open session.)

A. Approve the dates for the 2025 summer session.  The dates will

be May 22nd-June 19th.  

B.  Approve a resolution authorizing the redemption of $300,000 

principal amount of the general obligation bond series 2020 and authorizing the publication of notice of redemption.   

C. Approve the summer dead period for MSHSAA activities, 

August 2-10, 2025.

D. Approve the finalized budget for the 24-25 school year.

DHS 2025 Winter Homecoming Queen is Julianna Hervoyavich

Dexter High School 2025 Winter Homecoming Queen Coronation was held on Friday, February 7, 2025 at the Bearcat Event Center.  The Dexter boys basketball team took on the Advance Hornets and captured the win.

The 2025 Winter Homecoming 2nd Alternate is Febe Worley.

The 2025 Winter Homecoming 1st Alternate is Kaden Jackson.

The 2025 Winter Homecoming Queen is Julianna Hervoyavich.

2024 DHS Winter Homecoming Queen Returns to Crown New Queen

Dexter High School 2025 Winter Homecoming Queen Coronation was held on Friday, February 7, 2025 at the Bearcat Event Center.  The Dexter boys basketball team took on the Advance Hornets and captured the win.

The 2024 Winter Homecoming Queen, Marie Fees, was on hand to crown the new queen.  She is the daughter of Jim and Willa Fees.

Marie graduated from Dexter High School in May 2024 and is now attending the University of Tennessee - Knoxville and is majoring in Plant Science and minoring in sustainable landscape and design.

She is a member of the Alpha Omega Epsilon sorority, the Chancellor's Honors Program, the Volunteer-Lead-Serve Cohort, Collegiate 4H and Future Farmers of America, and the UT Plant Science Club.

After graduation she plans to use her degree to pursue a career in plant genetics research.  

Marie is escorted by Joseph Paisley.  he is a senior at Dexter High School and the son of Joseph Paisley and Aubrie Browning.  He is a member of the varsity football team.

When asked to describe Marie, Joseph said, "She is beautiful, funning, and caring!"

DHS 2025 Winter Homecoming Queen Candidate Featuring Febe Worley

Dexter High School 2025 Winter Homecoming Queen Coronation was held on Friday, February 7, 2025 at the Bearcat Event Center.  The Dexter boys basketball team took on the Advance Hornets and captured the win.

Febe Worley was nominated by the girls basketball team and is a senior at Dexter High School.

She is the daughter of Clete and Jill Worley.

Febe is a member of the varsity girls basketball and varsity girls tennis teams, Pep Club, FCCLA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Yearbook Staff, HOSA, National Honor Society, and Sr. Beta Club.

After graduation, she plans to attend a 4-year university and go on to pursue a career in the medical field.

She is escorted by Brayden Vaughn.  He is a sophomore at DHS and is the son of Brandon and Christy Vaughn.

He is a member of the golf team and wrestling team.

When asked to describe Febe in a few words, he said, "She is funny, kind, and creative!"
