On March 11, 1961, Ernie and Sylvia (Bess) Hill, of Bloomfield, Missouri, welcomed their third child, Bryce Alan Hill into the world. Bryce was born in Sikeston, Missouri, and departed into the arms of his Lord and Savior in Saint Louis, Missouri, on November 14, 2024.
Growing up, Bryce loved playing the drums and was part of a quartet, Gospel Tones. He was always bold about his faith, and sometimes even carried his Bible to school. Needless to say, the all-knowing love that he had for people and Jesus began at an early age.
On June 6th, 1987, Bryce was united in marriage to his wife and best friend, Cara Miller, at First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield, Missouri. They spent 37 years nurturing their relationship, adapting to life’s challenges, and cherishing each moment together. Their marriage was a true testament to selfless, unconditional love. They shared a love for God, for each other, for their children, family, friends, and community. Together, they raised three children who have brought them immeasurable pride: Chelsie (Hill) Eaton, Brittany (Hill) Brown, and Seth Hill.
Bryce was a constant in the lives of his children. He never missed any event, big or small. He showed up for everything. He had a way of making each of his children feel safe, loved, and heard. He was great at listening and giving Godly advice. He was their rock and voice of reason. Ultimately, to his children, he was the best dad anyone could ever ask for, but it didn’t stop there. The love he had for his children overflowed into the lives of his grandchildren. Bryce was a devoted Paw Paw to his seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was quick to get on the floor and “wrassle,” count ribs, chew ears with his whiskers, and give knuckle sandwiches. The kids would often request to climb up Paw-Paw’s belly like an acrobat, and tell him to go to sleep so they could tap his leg and wake him up from his pretend snoring. He was always ready to take them hunting and fishing whenever they asked, and he thoroughly enjoyed taking his grands for rides on his tractor and ranger.
Bryce has been a devoted member of Bloomfield First General Baptist Church since 1982. For the past 42 years, he served faithfully in many roles as a youth leader, Sunday school teacher, board member, trustee, praise team member, sound and tech team, prayer team leader, greeter, Wednesday night bus ministry, and Kids Outdoor Zone (KOZ) Outreach Ministry. Bryce loved the Lord and had a deep passion for Revival and for other people to experience the love and goodness of God. He had the heart of a shepherd, always caring for those around him with a smile on his face.
Being a salesman was at the core of who Bryce was. It was one of his many God-given gifts. Bryce began his career in the world of sales as a Manager at Adams Paint in Dexter, Missouri. It was through his time there, that his love for sales blossomed into a passion. In the early 1990’s, he and his wife purchased a Miracle Ear franchise and they worked together for 17 years. During his time with Miracle Ear he earned several prestigious awards. In the course of time, he held various sales positions that contributed to the love and passion he had for his most recent career as a Seed Manager at Mayberry Seed Company, where he worked for over 16 years. Bryce’s desire was to put the needs of his customers first. He always followed through with what he started, which built loyalty, trust, and respect with his customers and coworkers. They were a huge part of his life, and he deemed it an honor to work for such an amazing company.
He loved to start his day by reading God’s word and drinking coffee with his wife on the deck. You could often find him eating breakfast with a group of guys or inviting someone to lunch . . . it was a rarity to find him eating a meal alone. Bryce enjoyed the great outdoors where he spent time tending to his chickens, hunting, fishing, and building. He was also committed to his community and Bloomfield Public Schools where he served as a board member for many years. Bryce was a basketball fanatic and enjoyed the roles of announcer, official clock keeper, and official scorekeeper/bookkeeper for the basketball games for a combined total of forty-three years. He was a Wildcat through and through and rooted for all the youth, coaches, and families who stepped foot on the court.
Bryce is survived by his wife, Cara Hill, his children, Chelsie (Ben) Eaton, of Essex, MO, Brittany (Blake) Brown, of Cape Girardeau, MO, and Seth (Baylee) Hill, of Bloomfield, MO, and seven grandchildren, Alesia (Ridley) Bailey, Carter Eaton, Halle Roberts, Emmett Hill, Lily Eaton, Ember Hill, Everett Hill, and two great grandchildren, Raymond Bailey and Theo Bailey. Surviving also are his mother, Sylvia Hill, of Bloomfield, MO, and his three siblings, Bruce (Sharon) Hill, of Bloomfield, MO, Chris (Curt) Hillis, of Dexter, MO, and Beth (Bill) Poyner, of Jackson, MO.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernie Hill.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 18 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 19 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Walker Cemetery.
