Marilyn “Sue” Bratcher, daughter of the late Bob Hopkins and Margie Alford Hopkins was born on June 25, 1957, in Dexter, Missouri and departed this life on June 9, 2024 at the Memory Lane Skilled Nursing Center in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 66.

Sue was a resident of Dexter, Missouri. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Jamie Abernathy of Sikeston, Missouri; by her daughter, Christina Duncan of Batesville, Arkansas; by her two step-sons, Michael Hawkins of Dexter, Missouri, and Lance Bratcher of St. Louis, Missouri; by three brothers, Bobby Hopkins of Dexter, Missouri, Dennis Hopkins of Bloomfield, Missouri, and Charles Hopkins of Illinois; by four sisters, Sherry Branum of St. Louis, Missouri, Darlene Case of Dudley, Missouri, Jelane Hickson of Dexter, Missouri, and Mary Lou Conner of Bernie, Missouri; by five grandchildren, Kristen Duncan, Brittany Smith, Sierra Duncan, Gavin Smith, and Addison Moore; and by three great-grandchildren, Aubrey Duncan, Skylar Henrickson, and Adailyn Smith.

Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Dawn Smith; by four brothers, Carl Hopkins, Keith Hopkins, James Hopkins, and Jerry Lee Hopkins; by her sister, Sheila Garvey; by her grandson, Austin Duncan; and by her great grandson, Wyatt Dale Henrickson.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will then be conducted on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel in Dexter, Missouri.
