Ora Frances Putney, daughter of the late John Ancil Putney and Lillie Adline James Putney, was born on January 27, 1935, in Parma, Missouri, and departed this life on April 3, 2024, at Memory Lane Skilled Nursing in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 89 years.
Mrs. Putney had worked as a cook for Ella’s Café and Hickory House in Dexter, Missouri. She has also worked as a seamstress, cook and bus driver in Michigan. She was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Dexter and a resident of Dexter. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and everybody else.
She is survived by her daughter, LaWanda Durham and husband Larry of Dexter, Missouri; by her son, Ben Propst of Dexter, Missouri; by eight grandchildren, Ashley O’Dell and husband Kyle, Larry D. Durham III, Brandon Propst, John Durham, Sarah Sandage and husband Robert, Alex Propst, Zach Propst, and Catie Propst; by six great-grandchildren; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Martin Darrel Propst; and by sixteen siblings.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. A memorial service will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Doug Sikes officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.

Dorothy Maxine Roberts, of Puxico, at the age of 93 years and 9 months, passed away April 2, 2024, at the Advance Assisted Living in Advance, MO. She was born at Puxico, MO on June 24, 1930, the daughter of John Libe Welsch and Anna Cleotis David Welsch.
Dorothy and Charles Herbert Roberts were united in marriage on March 21, 1949, in Piggot, Arkansas, he preceded her in death on November 6, 2014.
She is survived by four children, Al Roberts of Bloomfield, Brenda Lingafelter of Puxico, Gale (Hershel) Lacy of Arab, and Nancy (Rus) Lanpher of Advance, eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a sister, Juanita Louise Gossett of Dexter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons-in-laws, Randall Faries and Don Lingafelter and a daughter-in-law, Donna Roberts, brothers and sisters, Silvia Benson, Levi Welsch, Virgil Welsch, Alma Swink, Pete Welsch, Odena Greer, and J.L. Welsch.
Dorothy worked at Ralph Edwards Sportswear and was a homemaker. She was an active member of the Puxico First Baptist Church for many years. Her culinary skills were put to the test as she helped prepare many dinners for families, VBS, and Wednesday teen night.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Puxico First Baptist Church in Puxico, MO. A funeral service will be held at the church at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Justin Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, MO.
Julianne Harbin, 68 of Puxico, Missouri, died March 28, 2024 at Puxico Nursing and Rehab Center under the combined loving care of Elara Hospice. Julianne was born December 17, 1955 and lived her whole life in Puxico. She was one of God's little Angels with broken wings who brought joy to her family and friends. She previously accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized in The Christian Faith.
Julianne was preceded in death by her parents, George and Georgia Harbin; by four sisters, Kathryn Cook and husband Bill, Doris Cookson and husband Ancel, Pat Wilson and husband Bill, and Janet Metcalf.
She is survived by one sister, Judy Coble and husband Harold, brother-in-law, Carl Metcalf, four nieces and four nephews.
Funeral services are set for Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Watkins and Son Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri with Reverenced Chuck Clark presiding. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. and funeral service at 2:00 p.m. to be followed with burial at Duck Creek Cemetery east of Puxico with Watkins and Sons in charge of all arrangements.

Frank Edward Hanor, son of the late L.D. Hanor and Ozetta Curry Hanor, was born January 28, 1933, in East Prairie, Missouri and departed this life on March 30, 2024, at his home in East Prairie, Missouri at the age of 91.
Mr. Hanor was a lifelong resident of East Prairie, where he farmed all his life and ran a mail route for over 26 years. He also owned and operated Western Auto in East Prairie and had rental properties in Nashville, Tennessee. He served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the First Church of God in East Prairie. He loved to travel and spend time with his family.
On December 22, 1951, at the First Church of God in East Prairie, he untied in marriage to Imogene Hager Hanor. Mrs. Hanor survives of their home in East Prairie.
Other than his wife he is survived by one son, Bob Hanor of East Prairie; one daughter, Janet Sutton of East Prairie; three grandchildren, Scott Sutton of Sikeston, Missouri, Nathan Sutton of Charleston, Missouri, Laurie Hutcheson of East Prairie; one great-grandson, Shelby Sutton of Sikeston, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Elbert Hanor, Ray Hanor, Ernest Hanor and infant brother, L.D. Hanor; six sisters, Vera Baker, Annie Baker, Margaret Wilson, Evelyn Thomasson, Mildred Adkisson and Mary Ruth Morgan.
Visitation will be held Thursday April 4, 2024, at the First Church of God in East Prairie from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted Thursday April 4, 2024, at the First Church of God in East Prairie at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Dawn Walters officiating. Interment will follow at the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Huff, Scott Sutton, Donald Sutton, Mike Sprinkles, Mickey Lay and Jay Childers.

John D. Jackson, son of the late Dave Jackson and Josephine Ryder Jackson Foster was born on March 9, 1932, in rural Puxico, MO. He departed this life on March 30, 2024, at Prairie View Skilled Nursing Center in Bloomfield, MO at the age of 92.
Mr. Jackson was a member of Liberty Hill General Baptist Church in Aid, MO where he served as church treasurer and clerk. In his early life, he was a part of the family plastering business with his brothers Harry and Carl Foster. His true love and career came later, when he became a farmer. In 1982 John and Betty were honored at the Missouri State Fair as Farm Family of the Year for the State of Missouri.
On May 26, 1951, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth “Betty” Litzler in Piggott, Arkansas. She proceeded him in death on October 17, 2015.
Mr. Jackson is survived by one son John David Jackson and his wife Marilyn from Dudley, MO; and two daughters, Patricia Vandeven and the late John Vandeven of Bloomfield, MO and Pam Stuever and her husband Jim from Dexter, Mo. He was Grandpa to Erin Brown, Julie Richardson, Stephanie Jackson, Jennifer Hartlein, John Issacc Vandeven, Kris Vandeven, Amy Wynn, Michael Irvin, Amanda Brueggeman, Matt Stuever and Lauren Mayer, 14 great grandchildren,1 great, great grandson and a special friend Pansy Dennis of Bloomfield and by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was proceeded in death by his stepfather W.E. Foster, one son, Steven Jackson, his brother Dave “Jack” Jackson and sister Betty Mosbey, his half brother Charles Jackson, his step-brothers Bill Foster, Harry Foster and Carl Foster, half-sisters, Maurene Box, Pearl Hill, Velma Evans, Carros Allen and Mildred Simpson.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Greg Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
